I'm no fan of this man but this is just not cricket!!

A many appears to throwing rock like stuff from a bin at Farage

Thankfully the rocks missed him and I hope everyone else is safe on that bus

IMO, Farage should now get police protection

I detest the man, but nobody can condone this. It is completely unacceptable. We live in a democracy, and much as I despise Farage's views, he has the absolute right to express his opinions as long as he stays within the law.

Jo Cox was an old friend of mine. I will never forget what happened to her or David Amess. I would not wish to see anything similar happen to any other political figure from any political party.

No politician should be targeted with violence or with threats of violence, regardless of how objectionable their views might be. We must beat them down with rational argument, and not brute force.

So the OnlyFans blonde women who threw a milkshake at him. Bet she has never even voted. Just wanted her 2 mins of fame.

She's posing slurping the milkshake on the steps before Farage is out the door, she's in 2m of clear space on the step with a direct line of approach, neither Farage nor the four security heavies look in her direction as they exit the building - they don't do a threat scan, they're all looking in the opposite direction the whole time. She may not have been the acquaintance that was first identified, but there's no way that wasn't a set-up.

The fact is many left wingers are equally as bad, unintelligent, illogical and self interested as those on the far right. They agree with a principle WITHOUT EXCEPTION… until it doesn’t suit them. Then it’s ’different’, apparently. They’re cut from the same unedifying cloth.

Ah. This high and mighty bollocks is just because you think the same as farage? You are not coming off well on this thread.

Serves him right. He wants a reaction, he got one.

Or the cash he paid her to do it?

It's all theatre.

Tracker1234 · 11/06/2024 16:52

Dont think it was a set up and what about today's idiot? He looks like he is a great contributor to the UK doesnt he?

No. This kind of thinking is dangerous. It is victim blaming.

If he had been injured, would that have served him right? What if he had been killed?

He is a vile, odious little man and I can't stand him, but there is no place for violence in our politics. As soon as we start to condone this kind of thing, we stoop to an even lower level than Farage.

Campaign against him. Argue against the stupid shit that he tries to promote. But don't throw things at him. You lose all the moral high ground as soon as you do.

Lokipokey1 · 11/06/2024 16:53

Hate what Farage stands for, but it shouldn’t happen, it is anti-democratic.
However, I think the verbal violence needs to stop in the commons. Leading from the top and all that. I showed my yr 5s a bit of footage from the House of Commons once as part of teaching the British Values and they were appalled at how they were speaking to each other and rightly pointed out that if they were to speak to each other and jeer and boo over each other, they would be punished!

Why would you make unfounded assumptions like this?

I would agree except you're being generous to left wingers. They're far worse, look at the aggression on this thread alone, all from them.

BetsyBobbin · 11/06/2024 13:57

I guess you're happy with the rise of far right, aka, fascism as recently proved by the results of the European Parliament elections?

Thought so 👍🏼

Nothing extreme is good, neither the far right nor the far left. Unfortunately the world today seems beyond divided and people forget that only 80 years ago there was a world war caused by Farage's idol, the very nice Mr Hitler.

Don’t be ridiculous. Farage’s idol is Hitler? Immature.

ObliviousCoalmine · 11/06/2024 16:56

I wonder what the Venn diagram of people who think violence against Farage is terrible while also not giving two hoots about the government funding an actual genocide looks like.

You need to be careful with what you say, lest you find yourself added to the list of people eligible for having building supplies lobbed at their face.

Won’t work on me, I care deeply and have donated ££ of my money to charities supporting Gazans.

You don't have to choose one or the other.

Some of us are horrified by the genocide in Gaza while also believing that any sort of political violence is unacceptable.

Cooper77 · 11/06/2024 17:03

In my experience, left-wing people are far more aggressive, bullying and intolerant than conservatives. And that's all Farage really is – a conservative. Anyone who thinks he's 'far-right', or a fascist, needs to read a history book.

GingerPirate · 11/06/2024 17:12

Yes, Farage (it tried to correct as Garage) 😁
is OK.
Very clear.
I witnessed this country becoming a mess for 20 years, steadily going down.
Incredible shame.
Btw, I would love to FO back to Prague,
where I was born (also being very clear).
However, there are obstacles atm (human ones)
and I have to wait. ☹️
Waah.

If you look at the video, the man throwing the rock has some sort of skull damage (it’s concave and hair is a bit odd at the back of his head). I suspect this will turn out to be a learning disabled individual. Not saying that what happened isn’t nice, but I think this may be a a tragic instance of vulnerable adults not having the correct support in the community.

Bloody hell that's a major leap of assumptions!

This. I don’t agree with attacking him but he wouldn’t give a fuck if his hate speech caused attacks on others. I’m struggling to find my tiny violin tbh 🙄

Never thought about that and we are from Asia and we came to england in the early 60's when I was a baby

You have a point but no one deserved to be attacked, IMHO

If he was engaging in hate speech he would’ve been arrested surely? Unpalatable, close to the line, but has he actually tipped in to hate speech? Does anyone know/have quotes?
