Farage has announced that he'll be making an announcement...

... an 'emergency' announcement, no less.

Presumably to announce he's finally plucked up courage to put his money were his big mouth is and stand for Parliament, after bottling it!

The interview is as 01:09:10.

Not once did he raise his voice. Mishal Hussein kept talking over him and interrupting him with her questions. He continued to talk to finish the point he was making.

How is that 'shouting her down'?

You've lied in an attempt to make some kind of 'Farage is a racist' type point.

If you can't win an argument without lying, then you clearly don't have a valid argument.

I haven't heard one single election interview on Today that has not involved a heated discussion on both sides so far.
Why NF is being singled out I have no idea unless it's the usual moral superiority thing again

Because others at least try to answer the questions put to them. Farage just blusters and laughs in an extremely patronising way.
It's obvious he has absolutely no interest in policy and completely terrible under scrutiny.

Listen to the interview. The only question he refused to answer was relating to his children, who have nothing to do with his political career. Mishal Hussein would have been fully aware of this but she attempted to drag them into the debate anyway. It was quite a rude thing to do.

I'm not sure what a video of James O'Brien bullying a handpicked caller is supposed to prove about Nigel Farage.

Here's a video of him in Clacton.

He can certainly draw a crowd. I doubt any other UK politicians could do the same.

And the braying mob online cheering someone throwing a pint on a politician, purely because they don't like them, are morally bankrupt cretins.

Just imagine the response if someone threw a pint on Diane Abbot.

Yes that's just pathetic. I hope they're arrested regardless of if I agree or disagree with NF

Do keep up. It's perfectly OK to assault NF because right = bad and the attackers are so correct it doesn't matter.
It's not OK to attack DA because left=good and the attackers are ignorant because they can't see how wrong they are.
Pretty much the same as it's OK for the poster upthread to call Mishel Husein a 'brown woman' because she was using the phrase to imply NF was a racist.
If NF had called MH a 'brown woman' in any context whatsoever he would be a racist.
Simple

It's really scary that some people clearly think like that. I genuinely hope the thick person that did that is arrested, it could have been acid and she could have got to him. Assault is assault and it's disgusting

I disagree I think he does listen and pick other arguments apart - I don't agree with him but we need politicians who can be polite and civil

And instead we have Nigel Farage, who is neither polite nor civil, nor open to be called out on his falsifications, dissembling and general tone.

He's a grandstanding grifter, a public schooled city boy who has convinced some that he is a man of the people.

it demonstrates the flawed reasoning of his supporters. why don't you watch it and find out.
I am allergic to two faced workshy racists so I tend not to watch nigels videos

This is priceless. You must watch this as it will open your eyes to how wrong you are.
I don't need to watch that because I know I am right.

As I said I don't agree with NF but he is polite and he is civil and puts forward his argument in a coherent way. We need debate that is reasoned not shouting or aggressive.

We clearly have different definitions of coherent, polite and civil, because Nigel F is none of these (at least whenever I have seen him).

Same. What he is is dangerous. Very dangerous.

We can respect someones argument whilst not agreeing with it - that is the mark of a civilised society

BIossomtoes · 04/06/2024 16:19

I’m not respecting a racist or their arguments. Some opinions don’t merit respect.

TinklySnail · 04/06/2024 16:20

I am seeing more intolerant Left leaning people than Right leaning.
It seems that the left are of the opinion that only their beliefs are correct and anybody who disagrees is a moron/bigot/racist.
I think I would rather keep Rishi in power at this point.

BIossomtoes · 04/06/2024 16:14

Dangerous is rather extreme - he has strong views, is he not entitled to those as other individuals are. We might not agree with him but to describe him as dangerous halts debate and implies intolerance.

No. Some arguments and positions are not worthy of respect. I can choose to respectfully disagree, but I'm not going to respect a flat-earther (as an extreme example)

And, as I said, Nigel is not respectful, coherent, polite or civil (in my view). I have seen enough of the man to make a judgement.

We can't be infinitely tolerant. I can be intolerant of intolerance. There's a line

Well if he is elected he will have a platform in parliament, the best way to win an argument is to discuss not just ignore

TinklySnail · 04/06/2024 16:28

@BIossomtoes Why do you say NF is racist?

It doesn’t imply intolerance. It says intolerance loud and clear. I’m completely intolerant of views like Farage’s. I’d be ashamed of myself if I wasn’t.
