Just a little fourward planning . We are all looking forward to another thread of fabulous pictures. It can be a quiet time but I am sure some of us will have autumnal colours to share . The trees are starting to turn here . I have just picked an allium from my photo collection to start the thread off .
You are very welcome to finish or visit the old thread . I do not know how to do ... this is the old thread here thing .

This is my Thalacrium. I leave it to seed every years as it has a very pretty seed head.

The rhododendron has finally flowered about 6 weeks later than last year.
The first allium has opened
And the first poppy of the year has come into flower..
Hopefully the the rest of the garden will start to catch up soon.

Very pretty @FLOrenze.

Wow @Proudboomer! The amount of blooms on your Rhododendron! It's lovely. My Poppies are about 1cm tall at the moment so a long way behind yours!

applecatchers36 · 29/05/2021 16:55

Proud that's a stunning Rhododendron and the allium looks very striking against the sea of forget me nots...

The Jasmine is in bloom and smelling good

Lovely photos all.

@FLOrenze I love Thalectrum. I have one that has self-seeded in the pot I grow my Acer in - each year I try to grow it in more auspicious places but it only seems to like it there. Gorgeous fluffy pink flowers.

Aww yay so many pretty flowers ! The sun is certainly playing catch up ☀️.. I'll have to take a few snaps tomorrow.

Haha @Sweetpea1532 I can't wait for my postal of very special onions (as @beautyisfoundwithin so correctly put it). I do hope they grow and turn out as they're meant to. I too, eagerly await your updates.

Stunning flowers everywhere so I don't know where to begin, I'll just send a generic 'beautiful' to everyone's pictures.

We've had a lovely day here too and everything seems that much happier. I've added a hydrangea and fuscia to my flower collection today and my Armeria is beginning to bud (I'd thought the cold had killed it but seems not).

Notsogreenthumb · 30/05/2021 23:12

Oh any my lillies has just poked their heads out the ground and my husband accidentally stood on them Smile. They are now beheaded and I wonder if that means no more lillies for me. Such a shame Sad

Sweetpea1532 · 31/05/2021 01:42

Oh, @Notsogreenthumb...I'm sorry but I had to laugh at your husband standing on your lilies...sounds just like something my DH would do! The more he tries to not get in the way, the more he steps right in it...bless them..can't do right for doing wrong!HmmGrin
The special onions are coming right along...cant tell which are winning the contest at the moment. I love hydrangeas and fushias! The fushias are so exotic looking...I've never had much luck with either oneBlush

I'm with you...too many beautiful flowers to name individually...you lot have very green thumbs indeed...I've never heard of about 75% of these specimen. Thank you for sharing.

beautyisfoundwithin · 31/05/2021 16:35

Finally a lovely sunny day for me! I've decided I've done enough garden jobs for today and am sitting in the sunshine enjoying it. ☀️😊

Oh no your poor Lilies @Notsogreenthumb! Although like @Sweetpea1532, my husband often does things like that too. Most often he mows over things that he shouldn't. I'm perfectly happy to mow the lawn myself, then my plants would be safe, but he likes nice straight lines in the grass and I'm a bit more 'carefree' with my mowing technique 😆

One of my Rhododendrons finally has flowers beginning to open up. I find it so interesting how drastically the colour changes from bud to bloom!

@Sweetpea1532 Yes I realised I had no space for them so stuck them in the last tiny area of soil I had, he didn't think I'd plant there too 😅

A couple of flowers from here and what a beautiful day!! Wish all of June could be like this but knowing England it probably won't be

I'm happy your areas are getting sunshine....you lot deserve to enjoy basking in it after all the rainy weather! 🌞⛱👙
All that rain does help your beautiful rhodies, I suppose...I can't grow them in my area...too arid so I really enjoy when you share yours.
We have what is called June Gloom...it's lovely to me because I'm always hot! And if I must have some sun, I drive a few miles away from the coast and voilà...sun..although I have to set up my folding beach chair in a carparkGrin

Sweetpea1532 · 31/05/2021 17:58

@beautyisfoundwithin
I was just reading (maybe an old MN post?) where the writer said she had mowed her lawn into a nice checkerboard pattern and thought it looked lovely...her DH wasn't amused and took over the mowing after that😂

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 31/05/2021 18:55

So many beautiful pictures. The thread is impossible to keep up with.
My Rhododendron is also very late this year (flower is similar to yours @beautyisfoundwithin )
Nepeta is blooming too. Roses look like buds will burst open any day now Smile

Enjoy the sunshine ☀️

GJ looks like she will be the first of the roses to bloom. It's my only potted rose.
I shall report back in a few days Smile

I cannot wait to see all your rose pictures. It's the most wonderful time of the year!!!

Those are beautiful flowers @beautyisfoundwithin and @AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet. Love hearing of new flowers on here.

I am always jealous of gardens that are further south . It is always a month behind here.

It's so lovely to share the pictures & enthusiasm.
More pink - probably my favourite tree in my garden. The flowers look like peony blooms.
