Just a little fourward planning . We are all looking forward to another thread of fabulous pictures. It can be a quiet time but I am sure some of us will have autumnal colours to share . The trees are starting to turn here . I have just picked an allium from my photo collection to start the thread off .
You are very welcome to finish or visit the old thread . I do not know how to do ... this is the old thread here thing .

Your courgette and marrow seedlings look very healthy beauty looks like you will have lots of veggies later in the year!

Only flowers and a few herbs here. Got a peony in bloom and a yellow iris

I adore light yellow flowers like your iris, too. For some reason I am not fond of the brighter yellows of some blooms, though.
The pale yellow reminds me of a soft infant blankey

That's very interesting @Sweetpea1532. Personally I'm not a fan of onions as I find the aftertaste too much but to hear of onions as sweet as apples ! Well then you must grow them right (no pressure) just so we can hear your verdict !

Those are gorgeous peonies @applecatchers36, and I too sowed too much this year @beautyisfoundwithin. Have you a lot of space? Those are an awful lot of courgettes 😅😅. In my tiny garden I've just planted far too many space taking squash and courgettes.

Bank holiday this weekend and it (finally) seems the rain is at bay. I'm intending to make a planter along my lawn so I can give my potted plants a final home. Roses are just starting to bud which is lovely, and my hebe succumbed to a fungal attack so had to be cut right back. It's showing some growth now but I'm not sure if it will get to its previous size this year or flower. I've just planted my dahlias and my lillies are peeping through the garden. Peruvian lillies died and I forgot to take in the tubers and I took in my yellow hammer dahlia tubers but I've forgotten where I put them (I blame new mum brain) so bought the usual pink white ones for now. I really do want that yellow back though!

Excited to finally have some colour in my garden! The vegetables have brought some much needed green but it's time for some flamboyance

Polygonatum . I have some in a raised bed but it got munched by sawfly last year . They look weak and spindly in the raised bed .
I managed to go out and pick them off of this border last year . Not pleasant.

I wish they were though haha currently they've lost all their leaves due to the cold and have some sad looking flowers 🥴 .. bees need to hurry and pollinate before they die too

Lovely little flower there, ironically they look like tiny squash 😅

I'm just about to go out shopping for some plants. Hope to post some colour soon

Thank you @applecatchers36 & @Sweetpea1532, happy to keep you updated on the progress! I let some of my runner beans go to seed normally and collect the seeds so sow the next year. Yes the courgettes have lovely big yellow flowers before the veg appears. In Crete they serve stuffed courgette flowers, I tried them when I last visited my grandparents, delicious!

Glad I'm not alone @Notsogreenthumb! I'm lucky as I do have lots of space but I've had to dig a whole nee veg bed to accommodate all those courgettes, as you say it is an awful lot 😂😬 I too am hoping the rain will go away for a while now, my garden is desperate for some sunshine. You do sound as if you could provide enough vegs for your town if not the global population, though...I am so impressed with your growing abilities especially since you can grow from seed...

I, like you, do not like the aftertaste of regular onions... So these sweet onions are perfect for you...I will be glad to post some over to you...btw, I'm conducting an experiment with the growing...half mounds and half without...updates to follow...I still haven't heard from that VO Committee..must be a scam!

First Cistus this morning

I'm really amazed that the Cistus survived our cold winter but it's absolutely covered in buds!
