Just a little fourward planning . We are all looking forward to another thread of fabulous pictures. It can be a quiet time but I am sure some of us will have autumnal colours to share . The trees are starting to turn here . I have just picked an allium from my photo collection to start the thread off .
You are very welcome to finish or visit the old thread . I do not know how to do ... this is the old thread here thing .

@AnneKipanki @applecatchers36
Thank you both!
I've never liked daffodils much but now they're my new favourite Smile

beautyisfoundwithin · 06/03/2021 15:57

That's so lovely @Sweetpea1532 ❤️ They're beautiful. I'm sure your Dad would be so happy to know how much those Daffodils meant to you today.

Sweetpea1532 · 06/03/2021 19:30

@beautyisfoundwithin

Thank you! He surely would be pleased...they were soulmates...they even shared the same birthday...it had been hard for DM to celebrate her BD since they always celebrated the day together for over 60 years😭

Lovely @AnneKipanki! After some nice sunny days making me feel as if spring was well and truly on the way, we've had snow for the past couple of days making it very much feel like winter again!

Notsogreenthumb · 15/03/2021 21:16

@Sweetpea1532 how beautiful 😢💕

indignatio · 15/03/2021 21:40

@AnneKipanki
What a beautiful variety of colours and flowers, AK. Thanks for sharing.

Sweetpea1532 · 17/03/2021 21:51

Sharing a few flowers from the southern US. The soil is red clay and very good for growing.
Upside: beautiful flowers, healthy plants, good for farming..the red colour comes from its iron content.
Downside: when it rains the red clay turns into a very slick mess that will adhere to anything and everything...If you step in the mud, it will suck your shoe or boot right off your foot leaving you to balance on the other foot and praying you don't fall. The reason you don't want to fall into it is because it stains anything it touches! Even your skin, the handles to your gardening tools and you might as well throw away your clothes.Hmm

Yellow:forsythia...used in Chinese medicine as an antibacterial, antiviral, and an anti inflammatory.
Red:camellia
Purple: not sure, but grows in the lawn grass and stays low and blooms from spring to summer...maybe a wild viola

Beautiful flowers on the trees @Sweetpea1532. That mud sounds horrendous.
Lovely photos @indignatio . My other hellebores are that colour.

Lovely to see everyone's gardens waking up for the year, it's so nice to see things sprouting and opening up.

That first picture of the tree blossom is particularly stunning @Sweetpea1532! 😍 I love tree blossom but despite having quite a few big trees in my garden, none are the type to have lovely blossoms sadly.

No new beginnings here, we've had a whole load more snow in the last couple of days. More snow than we had all winter actually! Unusual at this time of year and I'm very disappointed at the setback to my garden 😔

So my contribution will have to be a snowy one. I had to move my bird table back under cover as I woke up on Tuesday to find it piled high on the roof from the snow overnight!

Oh my @beautyisfoundwithin
That photo of the snowfall you've had recently is incredible. Are you at the North Or South Pole?Shock
I bet your flowers can't wait for some warm spring sunshine.
I'm glad you like the flowering trees...they are fruit trees. Will fruit grow in your area? Some of the apples, cherries, etc. need lots of chill hours so maybe they will.
@AnneKipanki
You have some very unusual flowers in your garden! And I bet the birds can't wait to get ahold of those orangey Berry things.

beautyisfoundwithin · 20/03/2021 14:33

It certainly feels like I'm at the North or the South Pole at the moment @Sweetpea1532! It's been non stop snow for days now, it's so deep. Don't get me wrong, I love snow but just not at this time of year! I'm ready for spring and getting out working the garden which is now impossible 😤 I'm not sure about cherries but I have noticed quite a few apples growing around here.

Sweetpea1532 · 20/03/2021 19:18

@beautyisfoundwithin
🥶
A really wonderful apple is
Anna apple....very sweet and the fruit can get about the size of a very large grapefruit.
Hopefully it will warm up soon...looking forward to seeing your colourFlowers

beautyisfoundwithin · 21/03/2021 18:51

Thanks for the tip @Sweetpea1532. I really hope it warms up here soon too.

As there's nothing I can add from the garden at the moment I'll share a pretty Hyacinth I have in the kitchen - it's as close to spring as I can get right now!

Ah that hyacinth is so cheery Beauty have a few scattered outside but lovely to have in the home

Sweetpea1532 · 21/03/2021 21:53

@beautyisfoundwithin
That's a right healthy looking hyacinth. I've never done that with bulbs. And I love your little fairy cottageSmile

Sweetpea1532 · 23/03/2021 03:52

I'm back on the West Coast now...I was greeted by loads of sweetpeas...my DH picked a bunch and put them in vases all over the house. When I came in from the airport the place smelled heavenly!
