I bought this jasmine last year, it's called clotted cream and it really is the same colour. It smells beautiful. Also bought a clematis today because I liked the colour!

Cherry tree was looking really promising this year, must have been the sunny April/May weather but in the space of a weekend they all came off in the wind.

@Polkadotdelight Oh no! How awful ☹️☹️☹️. Ours are netted to protect them from the birds. It's been super windy here too and loads of our shrubs have been battered.

catwithflowers · 05/07/2020 21:10

But the jasmine looks beautiful 💕

Vicliz24 · 05/07/2020 21:34

Thank you Timesdone that’s kind , it’s been 21 years in the making and is never the same two years in a row . It’s always been my sanctuary but this year more than ever .

Polkadotdelight · 05/07/2020 21:46

@catwithflowers the tree must have been planted many years ago because it is massive, I can only just reach the lower branches otherwise I would net it too!

Jenasaurus · 05/07/2020 21:52

Some cats and also some flowers, cookie and Kit Kat are the cats, the flowers were in my mums garden

Are those poppies! Beautiful. The cats are very very pretty too.

GiantKitten · 05/07/2020 23:03

@BewareTheBeardedDragon

Oh no - what a shame. It's been horrendously windy here today too, it's felt a lot stronger than the forecast said it would be. Hope it recovers.

Here is a marjoram flower and some giant daisies like @GiantKitten (are they coreopsis?)

My big daisies are leucanthemum, Dragon - yours look as if they might have extra petals? I can’t quite tell from the photos. Very similar though.

(The coreopsis will have yellow petals, when they finally decide to open Grin)

GiantKitten · 05/07/2020 23:05

@Oldraver

We've got a lot of wind here today and I've just found my yellow Buddleja totally battered and broken.

A 6ft stem knocked down

Oh that is sad, Oldraver Sad The wind has been very fierce today.

Created this border from scratch since lockdown. Still a lot of growing and filling out to do but am pleased with it. And this is my Road Dahl rose.

@TwigTheWonderKid we planted that rose a couple of weeks ago. It's covered in buds and we are very impatient for it to flower! Yours is lovely, as is your border 🌹😊

Cathpot · 06/07/2020 08:12

Trying again ..

Loving seeing the cats. We've been without ours for a week now and the house is do list without him

My jasmine is no where as prolific as it's been in the past but as I had to very seriously cut it back last year to replace the trellis, I'm so glad it forgave me

This is part of my cottage garden bed and I know I planted everything, but isn’t nature wonderful how it blends the colours prettily.

Sorry to hear about your cat @Oldraver, they really do leave a hole when they go Sad we lost our other cat in Feb and I'm still not over it.

The Jasmine looks lovely (and not at all bad for being chopped back), I trimmed our Himalayan Indigo at the start of lockdown and it hasn't really forgiven me, It normally flowers first and then the leaves appear but this year it did it both at once but not all over.... (pic of sulking indigo)

@Beebumble2 it's lovely! We planted our new cottage bed last year and like you, we have thrown more plants into it than seemed wise or possible 😂. It's mostly worked beautifully though. We did move some penstemon recently as we finally admitted that neither of us liked them! I've moved them to a bed where we can't really see them!

Instead of counting sheep to get to sleep, I try to remember all the plants we have in our cottage bed 😆🌹🍀🌱

catwithflowers · 06/07/2020 15:31

@AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet gorgeous 💕

Beebumble2 · 06/07/2020 15:40

catwithflowers thank you, I do tend to overfill and then forget what’s there, but it’s a lovely surprise when things emerge in the spring.

Beebumble2 · 06/07/2020 15:42

Beautiful Hydrangeas, l love them and have taken cuttings, fingers crossed they strike.

catwithflowers · 06/07/2020 15:47

@Beebumble2 are you keeping your hydrangea cuttings in light or shade? I took some today for the first time and have read conflicting advice, some people say shade until they root and others say in light but not direct sunshine Confused

Beebumble2 · 06/07/2020 15:59

I’m keeping them in the shade in a corner of the greenhouse. Previous ones failed when in the light. I think they lose too much water. I’ve been spraying them and keeping the compost moist.
