Marking place with a climbing rose from my garden and a photo of Aberglasney gardens, one of my favourite places.

@IKillMyPlantsToDeath Monty was planting a rose on last nights gardeners world. He said to make sure the graft point was under the soil (which, honestly, is the opposite to what I've always done).

I'm a 'stick it in the ground and leave it to fend for itself' gardener TBH although my roses have looked better this year for having a regular spray with Rose Clear.

I love seeing the big shots of everyones's gardens cos Im nosey Grin

@RaptorInaPorkPieHat I couldn't believe it when Monty said that about the planting depth of the rose last night. I thought... oh no, my root ball (??) is always visible ConfusedBlush

Beautiful pictures from all of you Smile

The Generous Gardener is out of stock everywhere. I will have to be patient!

Love that planter @always2ndbest.

And stunning gardens @Vicliz24 & @catwithflowers!

You're so right about the cats' attitude @AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet! 😂

Adding another delicate little Rose from my garden.

@BestIsWest, we have Generous Gardener, just bought it a couple of months ago from the David Austin website. It is absolutely beautiful and I would recommend it wholeheartedly. Such a lovely smell, dark green glossy leaves and the most beautiful flower with so many buds on it. I'll see if I can find a photo and post it here 💕

@catwithflowers and everyone who recommended Generous Gardener. It looks perfect. I’ll have to wait until November though (stamps feet impatiently).

ArcherDog · 04/07/2020 20:20

Name changed to my ‘outing’ one.

I love the green colour variety on the leaves of my hostas.
Plus the beautiful colours coming out in my flowers.

It's certainly not as impressive as the rest of you but we moved last year and the garden is a blank slate.
I was terribly proud of myself I have grown most of these from seed or small plugs (except the cordyline and the crocosmia) but they are getting decimated by slugs Sad.
So the war is on! In fact, off to do slug patrol once I finish my drink! I think we are winning.

I love hostas Archerdog, yours are fab. I have a very stupid dog who eats them.

popgoesperfection · 04/07/2020 22:15

Wow so many beautiful pictures already !! @Vicliz24 your garden looks lush!!
I might have to treat myself to one of those @AnneKipanki although I'm riunning out of planting space I'm sure I can squeeze it in somewhere haha

catwithflowers · 05/07/2020 07:35

Not a picture but is anyone else really frustrated with the weather at the minute? After the lovely sunshine we have had nothing but rain and (much worse) strong winds for the last couple of weeks. Our poor roses are being battered and the peony, though it bravely flowered, had its petals ripped off by gusts of over 40 mph ☹️. Sun is shining today but it's blowing a gale!!! North East England here!

Vicliz24 · 05/07/2020 07:41

Catwithflowers I’m completely fed up of the wind too . I’ve got lots of roses in my front garden and quite a few exotic things in the back that are getting ruined in the wind . East Midlands here

Beebumble2 · 05/07/2020 07:50

Lovely gardens. Thought I’d post a picture of my Calendulas, all grown from seed saved from last year. I think the variety was Party Mix?
It’s so satisfying grownIng from your own saved seeds.
I’m envious of your Generous Gardener catwithflowers, mine bought from AD has just sat doing nothing! I must look at how deep I planted it. Love those Hostas!

So many beautiful pics already! Place marking with my new bargain planters, with as yet teeny tiny cape gooseberries in them, and dwarf French beans behind.

@Beebumble2 I totally agree about growing things from seed. It's so exciting and satisfying (and frustrating 🤣) I sowed lots of coreopsis this year and a lovely white cosmos. Only three of the Cosmos seeds emerged and after about 6 weeks, too late to plant out this year, the coreopsis made an appearance. Yet other things I've grown from seed have been fine!

We put up a greenhouse a few months ago so my latest thing is taking cuttings. I've been watching GW and videos on YouTube and am hoping that the cuttings I've taken from salvia, lavender, nepeta, campanula and lupin will actually root. I spray them three times a day and watch over them like a mother hen! I'm quite an impatient gardener!!

Loving all the photos on this thread 😊

AnneKipanki · 05/07/2020 08:42

I planted out a couple of pots but my H says I have to split them .

Bring back deckchair weather!

New steps built by a socially distanced dry stone waller. I'm starting to make progress moving all excess rock ready to re-lay the lawn.
