Your gardens are all so beautiful!

Thank you for the rose advice Thanks (isn't that emoji apt!) I hope to be putting up photos of some beautiful blooms as hopefully these threads will keep going, they are so lovely.

PS my mint and basil and oregano I have grown from seeds seem to be doing well - the first time ever! I wonder if it was those few weeks of lovely hot sun.

Oh no Best that is frustrating, you asked for recommendations for things available, I promise it was in stock when I linked yesterday. But you will only lose a bit of growing time from now till November if you get it in before winter. Getting the very last of this year's plants means you may have got the least good one. In November they'll send out the best.

BestIsWest · 05/07/2020 15:01

That is true noflora

Thanks for new thread, Anne!
I love Walter’s gardener too Smile
My hydrangeas are creeping further into flower. (We’ve had over a week of really miserable and pretty wet weather and everything fed up)

Here are a purplish one, a slightly bluer one (possibly...) and a more unusual one where the flowers are green with red edges, I’d forgotten I’d planted that one in with the regular kind.

(There are also a couple of big pink ones but they’re quite ordinary)

Coreopsis on the verge of flowering (this is another that looked like a dead duck in April but has come round incredibly with some weeding & top-dressing), a beautiful (if soggy) leucanthemum, and lantara buds.

(I’ve tried lantara before, but in normal Lancs summer it did very poorly. So far it’s ok-touch-wood)

Still a work in progress... Started out as a rose garden with bare earth and odd rectangular shaped borders. Seen to have voracious slugs and snails, but I'm learning what survives them!

Thanks to those who commented on my GJ rose - I emailed DA and they agree that the flowers are too pale and will be sending a replacement. Fantastic service!

AnneKipanki · 05/07/2020 16:47

That’s brilliant Mamia

We've got a lot of wind here today and I've just found my yellow Buddleja totally battered and broken.

A 6ft stem knocked down

@Vicliz24 I've got garden envy, it looks great

BewareTheBeardedDragon · 05/07/2020 19:24

Oh no - what a shame. It's been horrendously windy here today too, it's felt a lot stronger than the forecast said it would be. Hope it recovers.

Here is a marjoram flower and some giant daisies like @GiantKitten (are they coreopsis?)
