The wild poppies I do collect the seeds but also leave the last ones to go off themselves.

I've h as my whole front garden as a poor field but thinned it out this year

I may have some spare seeds from last year if anyone wants any

And what is it about MN that when I try to post pictures my phone muddled them all up and out of date order

It's lovely. And there was also a Clematis garden on GW last night! I used to pronounce mine clemAtis (A for apple) but I heard Monty use a soft A, so now I say Clematis too... Can you tell that I'm a huge Monty fan? 😂
I would love to know about the poppies too Smile

Bellflowers, African daisies and the now enormous Wild Edric Rose

That is an amazing collection of poppies. Do you have an opium den ? 😂

I've gone and ordered another DA climbing rose! I'm not sure it's the one I think most beautiful but the priority is scent, it's to go to the side of the house next to our main room and balcony. I won't really see it but hoping the scent will waft through. We have a lilac and a philadelphus further back which does the same, so now something for the summer. This is it Wollerton Old Hall , difficult to gauge whether it's a pretty colour or a bit stained dishcloth.

Hi Dita . I came late to gardening but it is such a joy. Loving your pictures. What are the yellow flowers on your gravel area please?

Oldraver · 23/05/2020 19:30

Grinat opium den. I did make sure it was ok to grow and collect the seeds before I started, half expecting something to be said by the neighbours

We did have a couple if police and a CID bloke round last year and I did ask them if they lived my poppy field

I've just taken the plunge and ordered a rose. I've not had a love if them since a child and always getting shredded in my Grandma's rose garden ( she had over 200 and was very proud of them). I saw a lovely pale lilac one at an open garden so have put aside my fear

Are you on the app or desktop @Charles2019 ?

On the app and desktop it is the paper clip, you pick a photo and add it to your post .
You are allowed 3 pictures per day on the app , 30 , I think , on desktop.

It's amazing how flowers and plants can soothe the soul

I used to live going out to watch my Evening Primrose unfurl. Sometimes I would forget or be busy and would go out to be greeted by 20 odd new blooms

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 24/05/2020 13:04

@Noflora That climber looks beautiful, not stained dishcloth at all 😂
My Wild Edric has opened up completely. I just love the specs of white. I don't remember them last year

That’s a beautiful clematis @livingthegoodlife Do you happen to know what variety it is? I’ve been spending the last week or so convincing myself I really need more clematis in my garden and a nice white one is top of my wish list!

Lovely wildflowers AlwaysOnABloodyDiet. It must be so exciting to see all of those coming up!

Today’s contribution is a Japanese Anemone, which has started flowering exceptionally early this year, and my lovely Camellia, that’s STILL flowering. May really is an interesting month!

We had an extension over the winter (grim)and had the border against the back of the house completely dug out beforehand . Remaining area is to be paved and was well tramped on,sand, concrete etc.
Then shoots started appearing and I realised not all the peony had been removed.
This is the first flower today but isn't nature wonderful? And tough. Can't bear the thought of digging it out (again)so maybe we could pave round it Grin
