Camellia and a Japanese anenome together Wow.

I like the white specks too Always, that's the sort of thing breeders look for isn't it, to try and encourage new characteritics.

I am determined to poppyfy my garden, what variety and anticipation they provide.

AnneKipanki · 24/05/2020 16:01

What a pretty flower @campion .

Beautiful Peony, wish mine would flower. However, the first flower on my Blue Eyes for You has bloomed.

Meant to add ‘rose’

campion · 24/05/2020 17:56

Thanks @AnneKipanki and @Beebumble2
I think peonies have a mind of their own. This one certainly got no help from me!

Our foxgloves are just flowering and I'm really pleased we've got so many, having chucked seed heads liberally over the borders in the past 2 years then carefully avoided the young plants when cutting everything back. Labour of love and all free!

The alliums at my allotment have been a big hit! Bees and people love them!

Some beautiful flowers here, I especially love the poppies and the roses, I don't really have anywhere for roses at the moment.

Pictures are of my rhododendron and the honeysuckle that is growing in my apple tree (above the Acer).

All those peonies are just stunning. Mine aren’t out yet and one of them only has one bud, but after finally watching Gardner’s World last night (at @AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet ‘s recommendation) I now realise it might have been planted too deep. I’m planning to move it this Autumn anyway, so will bear that in mind 🤓

Today’s contribution is this plant, which I believe to be a yellow aquilegia, or at least something related to it, but I’m happy to be corrected on that.

I have a bit of a colour scheme going on in my garden of whites, pinks, blues and purples, so this doesn’t really fit in with that. But this is one of only a handful of plants we inherited from the previous owners that was actually worth saving.

I’m keeping it as a reminder of where my garden started and all the hard work that has gone (and stil is going) into turning it from a mess of grass and concrete to something a little more pleasing to the eye! ☺️

Beautiful Rhodedandron and acer, Scrivette

I had a whole Rhodedandron bed in my old house and they were lovely, in this house our only one is a bit pathetic and only just coming into flower

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 25/05/2020 13:14

I'm so glad you watched Gardeners' World - as well as it being lovely to watch, it's useful and informative too. I've learned so much from it. And everybody should have a bit of Monty in their life Grin
Hello 🐱 Smile

Bee that is lovely, I think I have the same or very similar also about to bloom. I knew it was a cutesy name like that, something like angel eyes or eyes for you.

Some of my pinks today. The hawthorn blossom (Paul's Scarlet) is my favourite tree, after the cherry blossoms. It's hard to get a good picture because it's quite young and the blossom still quite sparse. I think the blossom looks like little roses or peonies Smile And we have lovely folklore stories about fairies and that tree 😊

More beautiful flowers from everybody! I particularly love the peonies and the clematis.

@Noflora I'm with you in wanting to poppyfy my garden now too!

I love seeing new flowers appear in the garden, and the anticipation of what might come out next, and being on this thread feels like I have that tenfold through all of your gardens now too! 😁

asparalite · 25/05/2020 15:18

And for something slightly more unusual I thought I'd share a photo of a 'hanging basket' of Petunias that I fashioned out of a little basket I found in a charity shop and some moss from the back of my garden as a lining. Probably not to everyone's taste, but I'm pleased with it!

Thanks @AnneKipanki. Mr cat is my constant companion in the garden. Never more than a few feet away 😊

Lovely hanging baskets Beautyisfoundwithin and Oldraver. I like the creative use of materials!
