That's the plant that every gardener should have , according to MIL ! Sysirinchium Stratium .

@Noflora Thank you for the rose information and pictures. They are so beautiful

@Crazzzycat I believe it's going to rain here tonight. (IRL) There's even a yellow alert warning for the west. I'm actually excited 😳

I have a lovely pot of dianthus. Scent is heavenly

This is my Crinodendron. It can be my 'something unusual' for the thread. I think they look like hanging strawberries Smile

They do .

They're lovely Always

Well came back from the garden centre with more than one plant, a new knife, grass seed and some lights. Was greeted by OH at the car with .... you said ONE plant

Water butt is a beehive shape in plastic but I'm pleased with it. We have also had the lights saga, where a multi coloured set was rejected so bought a bee set, but they glow orange which OH didn't like. So they're going on the butt

Thank you AnneKipanki. I have multiple clumps of it around the garden as I keep dividing it. It is particularly lovely when it is in shade, the pale yellow highlights the very interesting way the buds zigzag up the stem, very architectural . Lovely to know what it is. We call it bonfire plant because that is where we first found it growing.

Those are great Always, intriguing.

Noflora · 21/05/2020 14:41

Ekianthus, another thing I don't recognise, lovely.

failedasaparent · 21/05/2020 17:22

Our pond and scruffy insect friendly bed next to it.

Lovely Oldraver. It reminds me I really must collect the seed from the only poppys we have which are in a tucked away place.

Are those Flag Iris failed ? I love them and covet my neighbours' really tall ones which hide half their shed summerhouse.

popgoesperfection · 22/05/2020 10:33

Strawberry plant has started flowering.

@Oldraver I feel your pain with a light saga, I have the same ongoing saga with my DH and his opinions on fairy lights! 😂 I think bee ones will look great on your butt though.

We've had rain overnight for the past few days and I've been fighting a losing battle with slugs decimating my seedlings 😡

beebeeduck · 22/05/2020 11:02

I set up a bee water station this morning, a bargain at less then £5

What is that @beebeeduck ?

I bunged this clematis in a couple of years ago and it did nothing till now. Fence post is still ugly but this makes me happy. As does my rose that lives in shade that I found under bramble in a scrubby area

it's a little tray for under a flower pot and some small glass beads - £12 in all, I thought it was £5 - the beads were more than I remembered.

AnneKipanki · 22/05/2020 11:21

Thanks @beebeeduck
Beautiful colour on that clematis @Noflora . I am still jealous of all the roses that are out elsewhere.

Tyre planters on our garage wall - we're both car enthusiasts so very fitting.
