Oh lovely @popgoesperfection. Is that a Red Cardinal? Or is if one of the many other beautiful red clematis available? 😀

popgoesperfection · 23/06/2020 16:55

I haven't a clue 🙈😂 pinched it from my dad and there was no label on it 🤔

Crazzzycat · 23/06/2020 20:06

Fair enough! They are difficult to tell apart at the best of times

My floral contribution for the day is this rose, James Galway. It’s so frilly!

There are so many varieties of all the different plants aren't there, I don't know how people remember them all!! That is gorgeous @Crazzzycat !! I love that type of flower, big and blousey, stunning !

GiantKitten · 23/06/2020 22:01

We went to the RHS show at Tatton Park last year.
Look at this hydrangea!!!
(There were other amazing ones too but for some reason I only took this one Confused)
I wish now I’d bought one. We were booked for this year but of course it’s off.
I have 3 currently, but they’re all bog standard afaik, & like @AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet my blues always turn pink, even in a pot with ericaceous!

Today’s offering is a lovely little rose which was just a stick in a pot at the start of spring and with a lot of tlc is now covered in buds

@GiantKitten I do love the tattoo show, a couple of years ago I bought the most beautiful blue/lilac hydrangea from there and it turned pink 🙈. I stick to buying the gin from there now!!

userxx · 24/06/2020 07:51

Tatton even, not tattoo.

AnneKipanki · 24/06/2020 09:35

Cliff has finally opened (He's such a diva, but by far the best rose in the garden)

20+ years old (planted after our wedding, along with one for my mum and her best friend who were both massive Cliff Richard fans Grin

Thanks for that, user - if I had bought it I’m sure it would have come out pink this year Grin

(“Tattoo” - autocorrect is too clever by half!)

Loving all these roses Smile

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 24/06/2020 11:52

I can't keep up with the thread, it's moving too quickly with all the gorgeous pictures and Hydrangea talk Smile

Here are 3 I just randomly took just now. It has finally stopped raining

@DENMAN03 The bees love poppies. I love listening to and watching them, they're so fascinating. I love your garden.

The roses are Harlow Carr and Princess Anne.

I do not garden really Grin as I'm rubbish, live in a ground floor apartment and have my own though
Some violas in pots which are lovely, the trees which are now 12 years old (and I have no clue what they are) and the grass the gardeners hack back Angry (it's included in the building maintenance but they're... over enthusiastic)

I like the look of wildflowers and have been eyeing up some of the seed bombs, anyone used them? I'm trying to pretty it up a bit and if there's flowers, they won't mow over it Wink

@AlwaysOnABloodyDiet ..I thought you were referring to me too with Princess Anne! Grin

Crazzzycat · 24/06/2020 12:56

@QueenCT I’ve not used any of those seedbombs myself, but my understanding is that they work best on bare soil. It is possible to plant wildflowers in an existing lawn, but you’re best off using plug plants and you’ll need to adjust your mowing regime to give them a chance to get established (and flower!). It’s something I’m planning to get going on this autumn, as apparently that’s the best time to do this kind of thing.

There’s so many beautiful roses on this thread, I feel I should probably look away from it so that I don’t end up buying more 😂 Lovely hydrangea too. I’d love a lace cap one like that, but they all seem quite small and I have plenty of small hydrangeas already!

Today’s floral pic is some lavender and a hover fly, not a wasp 😬

Here is my small garden. You can just see my blue fence on the left & my navy garage door which my dad worked hard to paint last year.

The bird bath was left by the previous owner.
The local birds, squirrels & cats love it!!

AnneKipanki · 24/06/2020 15:59

That looks great @Terralee!
