Thankyou @AnneKipanki it started life as a herb 'garden' but looked a bit lost and unloved so left the wisteria planted and started again. Not had a flower on the wisteria yet but have read they can take 5 ish years after being planted before you see a flower Shock
@GiantKitten I think Tagetes are grown as a 'companion plant' especially for carotts to keep some bug off so maybe slugs dont like them. They can have a glorious scent if you run your fingers through them. I used to palnt yellow, orange and a mixed one but haven't seen them for years

@beautyisfoundwithin the original EP came from a wild box mix from Aldi and have self seeded. This one out the front, is in the topsoil from next door that I allowed them to tip... so I reckon my plant seeded to next door.
@Oldraver apparently they’re multi-purpose - sometimes they’re used deliberately as a decoy, to attract slugs away from some crops, Sad but also they repel aphids, mosquitoes & whitefly (& other bugs, including carrot fly maybe?)

Confused

Slugs do love them - in damp spells in normal Lancs summers previously they have eaten an entire plant in one night. Very distressing in the morning!

This year I’ve got them in pots with copper tape round the top & so far that seems to be working 🤞🏻 (I think I might have mucked up my spacing with the mixed one which is disappearing under the massive daisy thing Blush)

Still waiting impatiently for some of my flower buds on different plants to open....your think with all the rain and sun they'd be blooming by now grumpy face tapping fingers on table

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 19/06/2020 15:52

Some of mine today

Clematis and pots of Hydrangea.
I queued at Aldi, super early, anticipating a stampede for the Hydrangea.

I was.... the only person there 😂

Wow Always it looks like your garden is exploding with flowers!

So many gorgeous roses again. I love that borage Terralee. So pretty and delicate.

My contribution for the day is this rose. I think it’s a rambling rose, or may be a wild one? We only discovered it after taking down a very high hedge that must have been blocking it from getting much light at all. It’s going a little bit crazy now it can actually see the sun ☺️

Always how fantastic to have such a sea of flowers..

applecatchers36 · 21/06/2020 08:49

Terralee love the borage a friend who is a naturopath is passionate about this plant and it's properties. Good for stressed out women who have depleted their adrenals apparently and good for the menapause too.

AnneKipanki · 21/06/2020 09:24

How do you use the borage @applecatchers36 ?

OP posts:
applecatchers36 · 21/06/2020 09:42

Think you can buy borage seed oil (starflower oil) from some chemists otherwise she said it has to be under a herbalist as has some potent/ powerful properties (!?)
