Thank you GiantKitten . I had better stop plant buying this year! But I will definitely have those again.

We have a wildflower area we grew from a wedding favour pack of seeds, it is a bit overwhelmed by grass but we will try again next year, hopefully just clearing better will help the more treasured stuff to thrive. A bad pic of a beefly, we have a lot of those this year along with honey and other types.

@Crazzzycat - I am growing a few things from seed (yet to flower)..cosmic sensation and californian poppies.

Also have daisy's, various geraniums, buttercups, forget me nots and some weedy things I don't know the names of!

Have no idea what I am doing, but the bees seems to like it and it looks kind of meadowy so will see what happens!

I really like fuchsia, I have several hardy ones which just do their thing without input from me. No watering, no staking ,no deadheading and flowering continuously late spring to autumn. Brilliant. I admire the annual sort but I am trying not to add to the watering load.

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 08/06/2020 15:57

Strawberry hill is so beautiful @Noflora

I bought both Claire Austin and Winchester Cathedral today. I'm not even going to try and excuse or justify it anymore, I've accepted the fact that I appear to be collecting all the DA roses 😂
Claire A is not in bloom yet, but WC might just be the most beautiful rose I have ever seen Shock

Pretty Fuchsia Smile

When we've got the garden more sorted, hardy fushias are definitely on the list

Oh wow WitchWindows that is totally stunning. What a beautiful creature.

Those might be dianthus, I don't know when a dianthus becomes a pink becomes a carnation.

ditavonteesed · 09/06/2020 07:27

Wow, that is a stunning bug.

I haven't got any pics to offer today but I bought an obelisk yesterday so going to get a clematis. Now it might take some time to decide which one.

Crazzzycat · 09/06/2020 10:51

What a stunning moth WitchWindows! I spent some time yesterday taking photos of all the different bees that are circling my cranesbill geraniums. I don’t know much about bees, but there seemed to be quite a few different species.

I have no idea how to get those photos from my camera to my phone, so I’m posting a less exciting photo I took on my phone 🙈

That's a White-tailed bumblebee I think Crazzzycat,very nice.

beautyisfoundwithin · 09/06/2020 13:25

I planted some Iris bulbs too, and although they have all grown, they appear to only be producing the greenery. I don't think they're going to produce flowers. I have had the exact same problem with Gladioli, no matter how many times I've tried. Very disappointing as they're two of my favourites. Does anyone know why this could be?

Lovely Fuschia @Oldraver. I am also easily enticed into new plant purchases!

Beautiful moth @WitchWindows!

That's a fantastic photo @Crazzzycat, if the ones on your camera are better they must be incredible!

That's a very pretty moth @WitchWindows ! We're always in the garden looking for different species. We found this cinnabar this morning.

Lovely photos today Smile
WitchWindows I think tiger moths grow from hairy caterpillars so that might be another of those!
ditavonteesed hurrah for a new clematis! We went to Harlow Carr today & they had 2 beautiful blue ones growing in glazed pots - first is Zara, second is Bernardine
There was also a weird spiky dahlia flower that bees loved

Also:

tall round primulas in variegated colours, astonishing turquoise Himalayan poppies, and some completely mad baby-shoe flowers (cypripedium, meant to look them up but haven’t yet)
