The boat is a nice touch @waltzingparrot . Have you got any miniature model sailors?

AnneKipanki · 01/06/2020 12:24

@Crazzzycat , evening light , or shade , might be better . It stops the red being so saturated and stops the loss of definition.

@AnneKipanki No miniature sailors unfortunately. They'd only be bored though as the boat doesn't go anywhere - it kept capsizing so it's now glued to a pole that's been glued to a brick.

SandyDays · 01/06/2020 14:18

@AlwaysOnABloodyDiet - well worth the wait for your clematis it's a lovely colour.

@Waltzingparrot - I like your determination to keep the boat upright!

Noflora · 01/06/2020 15:08

AlwaysOnABloodyDiet Fabulous colour clematis. I can't see a problem with the railings.

Waltzingparrot Gorgeous pond

Oldraver a dab hand with poppies and cane trellis, that honeysuckle looks lovely on it.

Oblomov20. You have got that clematis to cover your trellis well, mine are always bare uprights and flowers at the top. I would love lilies but lily beetle is too much of a nuisance in my garden, yours are a lovely rich sunny gold colour.

Joining in with the peony and red rose club. That first little rose is St Boniface and is 35 years old. It is in a terrible posiion in the bed but I daren't move it. The second much larger rose is Royal William in its second year with me.

Missed commenting on that astounding strawberry , the soothing lavender and sea holly picture and the GJ amongst others no doubt. Is the fragrance heavenly AnneKipanki? I need more pots Giantkitten, really makes your backyard inviting.

tanqueray10 · 01/06/2020 15:24

Lovely flowers @NoFlora! I’m seriously impressed that you have a 35 year old rose. It looks so healthy still 😮

Gorgeous clematis (or whatever the plural of clematis is) @AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet and @Oblomov20. Some of mine have yet to start flowering, so it looks like you’re ahead of me there

beautyisfoundwithin · 01/06/2020 15:37

Absolutely stunning roses from everyone, I'm very impressed - and a little bit jealous!

@waltzingparrot I love the boat in your pond!

@GiantKitten your back yard is lovely, looks like a really nice spot to relax in.

My Peony has finally bloomed, another Rhododendron is coming out, and a Passionflower too.

@Noflora what a beautiful red rose ! And @tanqueray10 them pink roses are so pretty!! Think I have an obsession with roses haha

Oldraver · 01/06/2020 16:15

@Noflora, all I can say is I grow poppies and bamboo as they're easy

I have a lot of bamboo so a steady supply of canes

AiryFairy1 · 01/06/2020 16:19

Lowering the tone a bit with my seedlings, but I’m quite attached to them as I’ve never got this far with growing from seed #minisculevictoriesinlockdown Grin
(Sweet pea, green chilli, and some others)

I’m very jealous of all the beautiful roses too. They seem to be doing incredibly well this year? My FB is also full of them, and I wish I could smell them!

I have a picture of my clematis flowers this evening - separate plants in separate pots but climbing up together. I’ve no idea what they’re called, I think they both came from a supermarket. The blue one has been in for at least 10 years, in the same pot with a couple of top-dressings (pot is full to the brim now & water falls out Confused) & occasional feeds. It’s very tolerant!

Thanks for nice comments about my yard Smile It is a lovely space, although currently DH gets the best of it as he loves sitting out in the sun & it’s too hot & glarey for me. (This isn’t a problem in Lancashire most years!)

The beautiful roses just keep on coming! I love that clematis too GiantKitten. It’s such a pretty colour.

Speaking of clematis, my DH often accuses me of growing a lot of plants just because they provide good support for my ever growing clematis collection 🙈

He might have a point. I mean I like roses and all that stuff, but I like them even better when they have a clematis friend 😄 Here’s two of them.
