It's beautiful
and now I want one too

But then I would feel like the adult equivalent of a greedy toddler, with ALL the roses 😂
I'll just admire yours instead Smile

AnneKipanki · 31/05/2020 14:56

There is only one flower open and one bud so far . I am so jealous of all the bushes that are covered in them .

My roses have been the best they have ever been this year, maybe it's the warm weather?
And my fushia which I kept alive from last year has started to bloom 😁

That rose is gorgeous @AnneKipanki, as is yours @SandyDays.

I love your fuchsia too! Is it just me, or are fuchsias seriously under appreciated at the moment? My local garden centre doesn’t even stock any. Things are so desperate I’ve started taking cuttings off my neighbours fuchsia hedge. It’s practically invading my garden anyway so I reckon it will be happy here 😂

My contribution for today is the first strawberry of the season. Exciting stuff!

Wow !
That is some size . Did you see Paul Hollywood in Japan ? He met a specialist strawberry grower , and had some that looked like that ,

I’ve been lurking and admiring, but as a rank beginner, haven’t had much to contribute - but the borders of lavender, sea holly and salvia that I planted last year have suddenly come to life! I’m chuffed - just the rest of the garden to sort out now!

Thought I'd update you. My clematis that I planted last year, I posted on thread 1.
It's grown well and I'm pleased.
Here are my tulips aswell, just starting to flower.

@GiantKitten yse I think it's Dianthus (though not brill at names). I cant believe it's on it's 4th year. I also have one in a pot out the front that flowered weeks ago.

I dont seem to have many new blooms at the moment, though DS's Oriental poppies have come out though one should be pink

Oldraver · 31/05/2020 18:55

DS's Oriental poppy, double geranium

GiantKitten · 31/05/2020 19:25

No closeups but this is my back yard
It’s a pretty small space, less than 20’ square, but with this spring’s weather everything is very happy atm Smile

Here's my picture from thread 1. I had just planted the clematis, so it's grown well in a year.

Wow the size of that strawberry! What's your secret @Crazzzycat?

@GiantKitten - your clematis looks fab, so does @oblomov20 's I'm hoping mine will flower next year

AnneKipanki · 31/05/2020 20:40

That looks a tranquil spot @GiantKitten.
I love that mix of plants @Mimx.

What a difference from last year, @Oblomov20. That rose is beautiful @SandyDays.

One of the cheap baby honeysuckle I bought last year had sprung into flower. I'm surprised it's got bigger flowers than the one in the ground

DS's massive poppy is one planted last year, the original one took years to get that big. And saying nothing about how it should be pink

I’m not sure @SandyDays! I only moved the plants over Easter and they’re not in the best soil either, so my success is a bit of a mystery. I have been feeding them with tomato food every two weeks. May be that’s it?! 🤔

I was going to take a photo of my Thomas A Beckett rose for today’s update, but it’s such a hard flower to photograph, so I’m posting another picture of my Peony flower. I’m really making the most of that single flower 🙃😄

We added a little boat to our pond. I think I was trying to recreate the view from a Greek clifftop, through our lilac tree. It's as close as we are going to get this year.

My Clemaaaatis finally bloomed. Must be a late blooming variety?
I thought I had done a sh*t hot job on painting my railing, iPhone camera is saying that it needs another coat Envy

crazzzycat My ThomasAB and Princess A DW roses are still only budding.
Lucky you! Although mine were only planted this year. I think the more established they are, the earlier they bloom?
That peony is stunning. Very deserving of another picture 😊
And yes, that is a very impressive strawberry Star
