I didn’t use washing up liquid . I had some liquid soap flakes from Wilko . Someone else advised adding garlic .
It was to stop sawfly demolishing my polygonatum.
Someone also mentioned neem BUT I do not know what it is .

@popgoesperfection sometimes the best thing to do is just to wait a little and see if any of the greenfly’s natural predators appear. I read somewhere that treating greenfly as soon as you see it can be counterproductive as it doesn’t encourage their predators to make your garden their home, so you will keep getting the same problem over and over again. If it’s been less than a week or so, I’d wait and see what happens, unless of course you think the plant is really suffering.

Today’s floral contribution is another picture of my Astrantia. These silvery ones are putting on such a fab display this year! I’m waiting to see if the pink variety I grow will follow their example 😁

Thankyou @Crazzzycat ! I only discovered what it was a couple of days ago, I had noticed the flowers didn't look right so did some googling and found it was greenfly. I shall try leaving them and see what happens 🙂

I feel a bit like a chest, because my Dh is a gardener, so I can't take all the credit for some of these. But, here are some snaps from my garden. (I do do gardening, but mainly the edibles and bedding, while DH does the bigger, more showy stuff!)

gunnera

Noflora · 29/05/2020 12:23

I so lust after a Gunnera. Everyone's gardens look blooming beautiful.

My camera is being temperamental but worked for a while this morning. So peonies, The Generous Gardener rose and Royal William rose with my best delphinium' s ever.

The combination of that white iris and the white allium is breathtaking @DonLewis 🤩 #gardengoals!

Today’s update is a fruity one:
Blueberries - I generally lose these to the blackbirds, but that’s ok as they repay me by checking the garden for snails

Apple - I love this little tree. It’s tiny and kind of misshapen, but it produces huge quantities of absolutely enormous, tasty apples.

Morello cherry - I’m growing it as an espaliered tree. When I started I thought it would be really difficult, but it turns out to be pretty easy yet still gives me the aura of a semi-competent gardener 😂
