Thanks @Orangecinnamon21.
We are now off and DD is just chilling. Doesn't want to do anything or go anywhere. She has to draft her PS and do a lot of work on EPQ. Her lovely teacher is even meeting online with her throughout the holidays so DD needs to make sure she puts in the effort soon.
She has temporarily stopped driving lessons and hasn't even picked up the theory test info yet - has another test booked in August (have postponed twice). She just doesn't want to think about it at the moment.
I am really sorry I didn't book a holiday cottage now as can't anything suitable and the is no way we can take 1 of our dogs camping so not even a backup. 8 weeks staying put is not going to go well with DD I feel.. I thought she would go away with friends but that isn't happening apparently.
At least she has Leeds and Parklife to look forward to but that is ages away. We will try to get the dogs into day care at least so we can see how he is there and fingers crossed will be able to put him in overnight at some point so we can have a night away at least. Would love to go to York to look around there.
We used to live down South, so on our next trip back we can take in Bath and Bristol and maybe Swansea & Cardiff.
How are your Yr12s feeling at the moment? have they had enough and crawing to the end or are they still pushing on working happily towards Yr13.
Sorry to read about those struggling with illness or mental heath this year - lets all hope Yr13 will be easier (more in school rather than virtual).
Sorry to hear some of them haven't done so well in Mocks, it's been such a hard year. I've definitely heard of many stories where students have got D/E in mocks but pulled it out of the bag in Alevels gettings B/Cs and even better but I guess that doesnt' stop the worry about predicted grades etc.
We got DD a tutor and she loves her - take a look at Mytutor.com. Someone phoned me up (a few times as I was also busy) but Im glad she didn't give up and she then took DDs details (DD wouldn't do it herself at this stage) and matched her up with a tutor, had a 15 min online meeting together and DD said yes go for it and they have had a weekly sessions ever since. AND only cost £22 for an hour (£18 for the first few sessions) so very good value.
Personally I'm Really looking forward to the Olympics, although not so much the 8 hr time difference as some of the hockey matches will be live at 2.00am! but it's not the same watching later so Im sure we will manage.
Lastly - welcome back to those that disappeared and came back again - it's been great having this going on from yr12, people come and go - I haven't always felt like posting but have kept reading.
I promise my posts won't be so long every time :-)
