Damnbuggerydamn Marmite. I know what you mean about people knowing. I told very few people but when I had to I always bloody well cried. Goodness knows why. I think I struggle with other people's sympathy.

Marmite - thanks for the update and best wishes for the next stage of your treatment. You sound like a very srong woman who has a very positive attitude.

starfleet · 02/10/2018 06:54

Wishing you well marmite.

cancer is a right bastard - I hope nothing has travelled where it shouldn't. So sorry you're going through this.

doistayordoigo · 02/10/2018 07:27

Hope the treatment goes well marmite Flowers

HesMyLobster · 02/10/2018 07:55

Marmite so sorry to hear it's not over for you yet. Hopefully the chemo will do the trick and get rid once and for all. Horrible for you though Thanks

Nettleskeins · 02/10/2018 08:13

A friend of mine who had treatment had an icecap which seemed to work for her hair.
She like you said it was nice that people cared but it was just annoying being unable to go to her local supermarket without being showered with sympathy when sometimes she just wanted to not think about the treatment or talk about it

UrsulaPandress · 02/10/2018 09:23

I've heard good reports of the cold cap too

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/10/2018 09:27

That's a bit of a bugger Marmite.
I'm glad you told us.

With mns help I reckon you will be able to style out whatever temporary look you end up with.

Wrapunzel videos - I got myself a velvet headband and had a go myself.

marmiteloversunite · 02/10/2018 11:48

I'll have a look at that knitting, thank you. I am trying to arrange microblading for my eyebrows before I lose them. Incredible how booked up these beauticians are!

MsAwesomeDragon · 02/10/2018 15:17

Sorry you need chemo Marmite. My brother had an ice cap when he had chemo (he had testicular cancer a few years ago) and it saved most of his hair. I'm not convinced about the fringe on a hat, but it might look good if it's done well. Flowers

NoHaudinMaWheest · 02/10/2018 15:32

Sorry to hear your news marmite. Best wishes for the treatment.

Marmite- don't forget slugs are readily available in the garden, I'm not sure what works best getting them to stick. Dd may be able to answer that one!
I hope your ok in yourself, the lymph nodes are clear so that's a big positive. Flowersand hugs

watfordmummy · 02/10/2018 19:25

@marmiteloversunite you've got this xxx

TheThirdOfHerName · 02/10/2018 19:33

marmite it's good to hear that your lymph nodes weren't affected. Sorry that you've got more treatment to face.

YippeeTeenager · 02/10/2018 20:55

Sending you huge hugs marmite. You’ve got a big appreciation society here cheering you on xx

marmiteloversunite · 02/10/2018 22:23

Thanks all!! Got a microblading consultation on Thursday so that's good and I have started the Christmas shopping to take my mind off things and I don't think I will feel up to it close to Christmas!

UrsulaPandress · 02/10/2018 22:35

What is micro blading?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/10/2018 22:39

Splendid Marmite, you are very proactive :)

Ursula maybe it has something to do with teeny tiny roller blades?

I thought I was going to be all tearful when dd left, but apart from a bit on the way home there hasn't been room for tears. Partly because I'm crazy busy but partly because I'm so proud of her for all she's having a go at and managing and so excited for her and her new experiences. How can I feel bereft when she is flying?

OP posts:
UrsulaPandress · 02/10/2018 22:44

I'm the same. DD is loving it. Although I wish she'd get on with a bit more work.

Petalflowers · 02/10/2018 22:48

Marmite - sending you lots of love.

My sister had chem following bc. As part of her treatment, she got a couple,of wigs on the nhs. They looked really good, and you didn’t know they weren’t real. Sometimes she worn hats or headscarves, other times the wigs.

Spoke to dc earlier this evening. He had salmon for tea. I presumed frozen salmon, but no, fresh as he said he was going to eat the second salmon fillet tomorrow, so it doesn’t go off. Quite impressed he’s buying and cooking salmon, served with potatoes and veg.
