Yes, but the point is that most of the people on the course will have the higher grades. The clearing places are added on to bump up the numbers. It doesn't mean that course is devalued in any way just because it has some places in clearing. They will be a small proportion of the places; and presumably your dd has already got her place allocated, whether with ABB or BBB. Or AAA!! So the cohort will still be high achieving.

Sorry to but in .. I work in University admissions and what you say about Clearing is absolutely correct in experience.

It's been a crazy week matching offers and actual grades, but I try to never lose sight that these are young people with dreams, aspirations and (probably) worries about what they'll achieve. Good luck to all - hope they achieve what they're looking for.

DD has had a confirmation email from her first choice uni. That's not really surprising as it was unconditional, so she's still worrying.
