Organic granola?

or

Dairylea Munchables

RolandButter · 14/01/2010 13:05

MayorNaze, that choc sauce was one of the number one 'magical' things I remmeber from my childhood (along with the mythical Soda Stream and Mr Frostie machines I never had because too expensive for my tight poor mum...).

It was so^ cool. Looking back, though, it looks ming.

MayorNaze · 14/01/2010 13:05

Am somewhat about this comment under the Guardian article:

"When I used to stay with my gran when I was young she'd make chips for lunch most days. I remember them as the best chips in the world. But talking to my aunty about it over Christmas I know that she wouldn't soak/rinse, par boil/blanch etc. She'd just slice potato and stick it in the chip pan on the hob (albeit in dripping I think). There's no way they could have been really good by the standards I have today, but at the time they were the best thing going."

FFS, that is how you make the best chips in the world - cut them into chip shapes and double-fry in hot fat. And I should know, because my mum and both grans used this method and their chips were awesome.

Anyone who offloads their cookery-poncery onto a plate of chips deserves food poisoning.

RolandButter · 14/01/2010 13:05

Milky ways- They used to taste like the whippy stuff in Mars Bars but they changed the recipe so now they are tasteless

Cyb · 14/01/2010 13:06

Smoked cheese comes in a plastic sausage skin and Asds sells it.

Also in a plastic sausage skin with knots at the end- Matterson pate remember that? Foul stuff

MayorNaze · 14/01/2010 13:06

ha - bet cheestrings would be on this type of thread in 30 years time - "they used to be lush, now they taste of plastic"

that would be because they ARE plastic

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 14/01/2010 13:07

Oh yes I still love slush puppies!

MayorNaze · 14/01/2010 13:07

do the pink wafers come in the groovy pink panther packaging or are they spermarket economy ones?

cyteen · 14/01/2010 13:08

MayorNaze - Ice Magic! Witness the amazing similarity between the product on your icecream and the shiny plastic lid on the bottle.

RolandButter · 14/01/2010 13:08

Dairylea triangles

Mars Bars...so disgustingly sweet, ditto Cadbury Caramel and Creme Egg

Liquorice Allsorts, now they are like sour shoe leather

BTW "smoked" cheese these days is NOT smoked it is injected with chemicals to imitate the taste of truly smoked food and the EU are looking into the chemical that are used as they now think some of them are dangerous.

Wagon Wheels

Potted meat of any sort
