alas, twas about 17 years ago, i've lost my cheesey knowledge. it was the most satisfying job though. not to mention all the cheese you could eat.

ClaireDeLoon · 30/10/2008 15:11

France

jooseyfruit · 30/10/2008 15:12

how does halloumi not go melty and drippy, it is cheesey witchcraft.
i had THE best hot halloumi sarnies in cyprus.

Lizzylou · 30/10/2008 15:12

UK

Cheddar, strong Lancashire, Shropshire blue, stilton

Gah, am hungry.

Would miss feta/halloumi/brie/vignotte/mozarella/
parmesan

Cheesesarnie · 30/10/2008 15:12

france defiantly.

i like the real stinky vomit stuff.

Lizzylou · 30/10/2008 15:14

The Hawes Wensleydale shop with free tasting.

They do some lovely cheese.

Sets us up for the day when we visit!

Blu · 30/10/2008 15:15

And what's that fabulous cornish cheese? Yarg?

Can't choose between UK and France...don't like blue cheese so stilton plays no part...

Kathyis6incheshigh · 30/10/2008 15:17

Cheesy witchcraft

BroccoliSpears · 30/10/2008 15:18

I love cottage cheese actually.

OP posts:
ChopsTheDuck · 30/10/2008 15:18

Nicest cheese I ever had was from Belgium.

Cheesesarnie · 30/10/2008 15:18

jooseyfruit · 30/10/2008 15:19

Cheesesarnie · 30/10/2008 15:19

eurgh i hate cottage cheese-its not normal.

Blu · 30/10/2008 15:28

DS call halloumi 'squeaky cheese'. We have it on the barbecue.

CoteDAzur · 30/10/2008 15:31

For admirers of French cheese: When next in France, please try "Le Petit Basque". The best cheese in the entire world

hambo · 30/10/2008 15:37

I'm off to make some cheese on toast
(Double Glouster)

hambo · 30/10/2008 15:40

Gloucester
ooops

unknownrebelbang · 30/10/2008 15:40

hmm, it would be Holland.

Much as I like some French cheese, I'd have to say English cheeses do it for me.

Cheshire, Wensleydale and mature Cheddar will do for starters.

SmugColditz · 30/10/2008 15:41

if cornish brie counts, then England

unknownrebelbang · 30/10/2008 15:51

Should have said it wouldn't be Holland.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 30/10/2008 15:54

England

FiveGoMadInDorset · 30/10/2008 15:55

Somerset Brie, Stinking Bishop, Cornish Yarg are all lovely, Cheddar

RustyBear · 30/10/2008 16:00

Nobody mentioned Lancashire yet?
Best toasting cheese ever...
(especially with a bit of marmite on the bread first)

Or just plain & crumbly with an apple - mmmm

shootfromthehip · 30/10/2008 16:02

I would automatically say France but when I lived there years ago I got ALL my friends to bring Cheddar over. I missed it awefully.

So Britain. England specifically. It hurts to say though. Tomme hmmmm

Lizzylou · 30/10/2008 16:04

Rusty, I did.
I like the strong Lancashire (Grandma Singletons stuff), DH likes crumbly.
