McCain oven chips have no salt just potatoes and sunflower oil. I think people should stop being so rude, especially when they are pretty ignorant themselves!
Potatoes - yes, even oven chips - are far more nutritious than white pasta and pasta with butter or oil on it is less nutritious than oven chips and higher in fat, if it comes to that. Personally I wouldn't eat cheap sausages. In my experience babies love baked/mashed potatoes with cheese, especially sweet potatoes, pasta, scrambled egg is brilliant, plenty of iron, fruit, yoghurt etc. This baby's diet sounds OK and the poster is clearly trying really hard.

Tinned tuna and grated cheese
Chopped chicken and carrots
Cheese and broccoli

all easy and very tasty for you too (I eat like this but I salt mine when I plate it because I am a salt addict!)

Tinned tomatoes are cheaper and baby won't care babyjjbaby - no salt at all in them - but to be honest all in moderation. Dolmio tastes better to you because you are used to salt, but the baby isn't and won't notice

basically the lower you keep the salt in meals, the more room it leaves you for snacks or really quick meals when you need to hurry.

I personally think ordinary jarred sauces are fine when kids are bit older but they are a bit salty. With pasta, butter and cheese is nice, or use a baby pasta sauce, or make your own, which isn't really hard, just used tinned tomatoes whizzed up with a bit of cheese on top, or you could fry a little onion and chopped carrot and/or sweet potato with tinned tomatoes and then blend them together. You could make a lot then freeze little bits.

Tinned tomatoes have their own juice so you just mash that up with them and use it like that.

It's all Dolmio is made of anyway, except they add salt and herbs and flout to make it thicker.

I'd give the dolmio if you don't give it every day, but if you give it a lot then I would try to find something not as salty.

Tinned tuna or even better, sardines, in oil makes a nice sauce by itself really. Or make a cheese sauce. bit of butter, bit of flour and some full fat milk, cook together until creamy, mix in a bit of cheese.
Sardines also really really good mixed with mashed/microwaved potato. Full of healthy fats for your baby's brain, calcium, vitamins and protein. Mash in a tiny bit of broccoli and it's a perfect dinner!

Just put a tiny amount on his then, enough to colour the pasta, and grate some cheese on top - you are right, it's good to have a lunch you both like.

You can use the cheese sauces to make broccoli or cauliflower cheese too.

Make your own sauce, less salt then.

Fresh Toms, sit in hot water to make skin easy to peel.

Once peeled, chop & put in large saucepan over a low heat with a little oil. Add basil [opt], a little salt & pepper, finely chopped onion.

Boil till very soft then mash for a lumpy sauce. Whizz in food processor for a thinner sauce.

You can use chopped tinned toms, but check for salt as you are doing.

I use this for lasagne, pasta, bolognaise, a sauce for meat or just a dipping sauce.

You can buy tinned mackerel in tomato sauce and I found that really useful to put on pasta - the kids love3 it!
