....something that is not going to take forever or make me feel fat be awkward to eat in front of someone you haven't eaten with before and that doesn't make anything you might do after er undesirable...or leave bits in teeth

why did i suggest food? it's a total mare

I do good old fashioned food like roast or steak and chips or pie and mash or shepherds pie if I want to please my dp. Depends what kind of food he likes, can't you just order a take away then he can choose what he likes and if it's crap he can't blame you?

BandofMothers · 08/11/2007 07:52

I was going to say steak, but that may leave bits in the teeth, how about a nice clear broth??? Just remember not to slurp

charliecat · 08/11/2007 07:53

Well not spag bol..or fried egg...
I am going for breakfast with a bloke tommorow. I have already had to warn him I dribble.
Food is NOT a good idea in early days is it
Steak and chips? (droll and its not 8am yet and im a veggie!) Or too chewy?

BandofMothers · 08/11/2007 07:53

Sorry, seriously tho, roast sounds good, it is my favourite. LMG seems to be on the ball, I'll crawl back under my duvet now ( I wish)

BandofMothers · 08/11/2007 07:55

Oh everyone worries too much, don't worry about it. Eat what you like, and don't woirry about l;ooking fat, or greedy. Most men like a woman with an appetite anyway. Who wants a carrot muncher??

What about Lasagne, but perhaps without the garlic bread, unless you both eat it.

zippitippitoes · 08/11/2007 07:55

well we could eat out but that seems just as bad to me i live next to a chinese takeaway but i'm not keen on chinese takeaway at all and as he is single..obviously.. he probably has takeaways all the time tho maybe he doesn't I've no idea lol..no idea what he eats he is an athlete type

Do a nice roast chicken, with bread and salad.

Leave in serving dishes.

That way he can stuff his face with meat, as men are wont to do, and you can pick nervously at celery, a women on dates are wont to do.

colditz · 08/11/2007 07:58

Look, anyone who is going to think you are greedy for eating normally will always think you are greedy for eating normally. You want to spend time with someone like that?

My brother's gf is a tall willowing dainty blonde ...who regularly eats her weight in bacon, egg and chips.

charliecat · 08/11/2007 07:58

An athlete type you say? tell him to have a macdonalds on the way and use up the energy and fat when he gets to you;)

zippitippitoes · 08/11/2007 08:00

oh he has plans for the energy using up part you are right

i guess i can just clean my teeth straight after..or is that a bit odd?

OP posts:
charliecat · 08/11/2007 08:02

You could go to loo and brush, yeah why not? No need to mention it. Good god all this faffing....tis mad innit.

zippitippitoes · 08/11/2007 08:04

zippitippitoes · 08/11/2007 08:06

OP posts:
zippitippitoes · 08/11/2007 08:06

and are we going to eat it in the kitchen or on the sofa

OP posts:
southeastastra · 08/11/2007 08:09

whole lobster you can wear this

ElenyaTuesday · 08/11/2007 08:10

Eat in the kitchen - less chance of dropping food on yourself!

zippitippitoes · 08/11/2007 08:12

lol at lobster

my kitchen is so unsexy...

tho he is an interlude not going to be a permanent fixture so i guess i shouldn't worry

OP posts:
moopymoo · 08/11/2007 08:16

if hes just an interlude give him beans on toast and cut to the chase, so to speak. or just say what one bloke said to me when i was invited round for a meal...'should we build up an appetite first?' [boak] and i married the bugger. i still tease him about that...

LoveMyGirls · 08/11/2007 08:20

Eat at a table with some music on (doesnt have to be barry white you can just have some normal chilled out music on) then you can talk etc if you eat on the sofa you will prob end up putting tv on and thats not very romantic is it?

I'd even go for candles and such then he knows you have gone to effort. If you're going to bother to cook make it worth it

LoveMyGirls · 08/11/2007 08:22

How do you know he won't be permanent? I thought that about my dp, we've been together 6yrs now!

zippitippitoes · 08/11/2007 08:23

music another inefield i could start threads all day

oh well i do that anyway

OP posts:
zippitippitoes · 08/11/2007 09:09

This recipe is so easy but taste like it took ages. Serve with salad green with a citrus dressing and a few baby pots tossed in extra virgin olive oil and corriander

BandofMothers · 08/11/2007 10:16

Eat in the kitchen, then retire to the lounge with wine, and put a pre picked cd on, that is already waiting in the cd player, so there is no temptation to put the tv on (unless you are watching a dvd).

Then suggest a squirty cream bikini for dessertonly joking.
