....something that is not going to take forever or make me feel fat be awkward to eat in front of someone you haven't eaten with before and that doesn't make anything you might do after er undesirable...or leave bits in teeth

why did i suggest food? it's a total mare

I would do steak and salad and something for dessert. They generally seem to be big on meat and sweet things. That's easy no fuss and you can do it all ahead except cooking the steak.

If you think salad is going to be messy, big slippery bits of lettuce, etc maybe chips/croquettes or fried potato and some kind of vegetable.

zippitippitoes · 08/11/2007 20:29

steak woulkd mean i had to clean the grill to avoid smoke alarm scenario

a good lasagne, can be pre made and heated when necessary, salad, bread and wine.

not too flashy, minimum effort on night, easily eaten on sofa or at table, smells good and hits spot.

LoveMyGirls · 08/11/2007 20:52

My ex was an athlete.

Grilled fresh tuna, baby potatoes, veg of choice and crisp green salad with herb bread/home made lemon mayo (piece of piss) used to have him dribbling.

Shame he was such a twat.

My first date with my sort-of ex was icecream in 90 degree heat. Messy.

2nd date, he cooked me ribs. Even more messy.

But was fun

Best of luck!

OverRated · 08/11/2007 22:49

Sorry, I realise my post wasn't very helpful

On our 3rd date, I made pesto chicken salad - no mess at all - could you do something like that?

zippitippitoes · 08/11/2007 22:50

i suspect he would like mess...lol tho he is a computer scientist
