....something that is not going to take forever or make me feel fat be awkward to eat in front of someone you haven't eaten with before and that doesn't make anything you might do after er undesirable...or leave bits in teeth

why did i suggest food? it's a total mare

Excellent

Didn't you suggest that he bring something for both of you to eat???

ModestyBlaise · 12/11/2007 18:39

yep i ate all the salmon last night

i did think of asking him to bring me something but didn't fancy take away

i guess he will eat it before he gets here

but if i drink the wine then i shall be pissed in about three secs..and i had some intentions of staying er sober

ModestyBlaise · 12/11/2007 18:40

i don't know what time he is coming either..god my plans always seem to fall apart and descend into unpredicatable chaos

lol

i had one glas of win and half a 9 inch pizza as the cinese was shut and that was the next nearest take away..ie about 1 minut away instead of two doors away

he was late

so we put the green mile on while we ate our pizza which then meant it got late as we watched it all

he hadn't finished his assignment for today so he had to set the alarm for silli oclock

so now i have to learn 10 plant names by 9.00 for a test

charliecat · 13/11/2007 13:06

the wine went down well. WTF happened to your spelling...all these lovely steak ideas an you eneded up with PIZZA? Did he like the new quilt?

ModestyBlaise · 13/11/2007 17:08

he didn't comment on the bedding..tho he could actually see it this time, last time it had about a ton of books, papers, clothes etc on it

You Won't Be Single For Long Vodka Cream Pasta Recipe courtesy Rachael Ray
Show: 30 Minute Meals
Episode: A Dozen Roses

This recipe will make enough for 2 couples. If you plan a romantic evening where more than two's a crowd, reserve half the sauce to freeze for another supper before the addition of basil, and only cook 1/2 to 2/3 pound of penne.

1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil, once around the pan in a slow stream
1 tablespoon butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 shallots, minced
1 cup vodka
1 cup chicken stock
1 can crushed tomatoes (32 ounces)
Coarse salt and pepper
16 ounces pasta, such as penne rigate
1/2 cup heavy cream
20 leaves fresh basil, shredded or torn
Crusty bread, for passing

Heat a large skillet over moderate heat. Add oil, butter, garlic, and shallots. Gently saute shallots for 3 to 5 minutes to develop their sweetness. Add vodka to the pan, 3 turns around the pan in a steady stream will equal about 1 cup. Reduce vodka by half, this will take 2 or 3 minutes. Add chicken stock, tomatoes. Bring sauce to a bubble and reduce heat to simmer. Season with salt and pepper.
While sauce simmers, cook pasta in salted boiling water until cooked to al dente (with a bite to it). While pasta cooks, prepare your salad or other side dishes.

Stir cream into sauce. When sauce returns to a bubble, remove it from heat. Drain pasta. Toss hot pasta with sauce and basil leaves. Pass pasta with crusty bread.

This is supposed to be fantastic,

Not tried it yet though waiting for the right time
