Gusto boxes

Just started the gusto boxes. Would anyone like to swap recipe choices? / hints?

I’m cooking the prawn farfalle today - about to serve it for lunch but baffled the online recipe and physical recipe card don’t match. One says rocket one says pea shoots - I assume that’s a sub but weird that it’s the physical version that’s correct!

Has anyone else made this one? Or have any tips on choosing gusto meals?

I have just had the Peruvian chicken. Nice mix of flavours (although the dip was quite spicy) but I found the skin on chicken thighs really fatty.

I agree that the next couple of weeks menus aren’t that great. I haven’t ordered for next week as I am away Fri - Mon this weekend and next.

This seems timely as we have been getting Gousto pretty much every week for the last 18 months but I've just signed up for MindfulChef next week. I absolutely love Gousto but pretty much every recipe we like now has an extra cost which is annoying me. Has anyone else noticed this?

We had the Bharat beef and couscous last night which was delicious. We had a rainbow veg chicken curry on Monday which was very...healthy.

We have them most weeks and still love them. Fairly fed up of little gem lettuce so will source an alternative to it. Just had one today.

We are getting a box Friday. Have gone for the crab and king prawn Sri Lankan curry (was an extra charge for this but thought it may be worth it), the satay chicken skewers and the lamb ragu gnocchi bake.
Not tried Mindful Chef but my sister did once. She said the quality was good but it was quite costly.

Had the loaded chilli fries the other day and they were wonderful. I made some mustardy slaw to go with.

They were amazing! Crispy fries topped with spicy chilli and so much cheese. Box turned up today, We also went through all the old recipes and picked the ones we want to cook again.

We got a box this week for the first time in a while as I had credit to be used. DS made the lamb ragu gnocchi bake last night - very tasty. We had pulled pork Tuesday night & have the satay chicken skewers and veggie burgers / hasselback halloumi (about a zillion calories 😬) lined up for later this week.

I am looking forward to the lamb ragu gnocchi and the satay chicken skewers. Wish I had also gone for the pulled pork as it looks amazing but I had already paid extra for the crab and prawn curry.

That’s a shame that you have had so many problems with Gousto. We have had the odd issue but it’s usually dealt with pretty well.

We have had a few Hello Fresh boxes and I personally haven’t had any problems with them but know lots of people do have.

The lamb ragu was lush as was the prawns and orzo and the smokey kebabs. Really hit the jackpot this week as they've all been delicious. We haven't had any problems with the ingredients dgirlul, that's rubbish, let them know.

Yeah we have - usually get a refund but this offer of £2.50 for a whole missing bag is a bit daft and they're ignoring now. Cost more than £2.50 to make up the ingredients so we could eat the meal :(

£2.50 is a really rubbish discount for a missing bag. Have you tried reporting it to someone on their group chat?

I've been super impressed by it all, removed all thought processes which has to be a win, and I've actually enjoyed doing some cooking from scratch (I'm so knackered after work I was just buying takeaways 😬) even the DC eat some of it!

I am glad I stumbled on this thread.

I tried out Morrison's meal boxes last month (made teen DD choose and cook - it worked a treat) BUT I went on to order a new lot and discovered they have been discontinued!

How big are portion sizes in the non-diet ranges? Normally it is 2 adults and a teen so I am wondering whether to get 4 portions and have left overs or 2 and bulk it out with extra carbs or starter/salad/fruit.
