Gusto boxes

Just started the gusto boxes. Would anyone like to swap recipe choices? / hints?

I’m cooking the prawn farfalle today - about to serve it for lunch but baffled the online recipe and physical recipe card don’t match. One says rocket one says pea shoots - I assume that’s a sub but weird that it’s the physical version that’s correct!

Has anyone else made this one? Or have any tips on choosing gusto meals?

Doing MindfulChef again - beef burger, chicken Kiev and teriyaki salmon.

Agree the burgers have been SO weird. I actually want to do a Gousto box as MindfulChef so pricey but can’t find choices I like!

I had the prawn rigatoni from HF today, so filling but not heavy. Really easy to replicate.

Glad you enjoyed the rigatoni too. I could almost replicate it without looking at the recipe, it was so easy and really tasty.
We had the lamb and chickpea stew tonight which was also a nice simple, tasty dish.

Will be interested to see what you make of the seabass HF dish as I so nearly went for that

Had the HF plum chicken stir fry last night. It was nice but I didn’t like the smell of the chicken when I opened the packaging (it was well within its use by date) so I ditched it and had to walk round to Tesco last minute for some chicken breasts!

@pinkchampagne1 that seabass was so nice, I don't know why I've never thought to put cajun spices on fish before, so easy to replicate. And I normally hate sweet potato,but the 'smash ' was really nice. Everything felt healthy and fresh.

Ooh, sounds lovely. So the spice on the fish worked well? Wish I had chosen that now!

The spice was lovely, not hot. But honestly all you need is fish and cajun spice to replicate easily.

I have seabass, Cajun spice and all the potatoes needed. Just need the chives!

Not sure the chives added much to it tbh.

We had the vindaloo last night. It was lovely!

I only used half the cayenne pepper to be on the safe side.

I think I will have a go at the sea bass dish next week.

I saw the vindaloo but was put off as I thought it would be too hot.

I had the roasted pepper and Aubergine linguine from HF today, it was very very nice but also so generous, easily 3 portions rather than 2.

Oh that was another meal I was tempted by, bonfireheart.
I have my sea bass ready to try the Cajun spice dish tomorrow. Visited a friend who was growing various herbs so have my chives now!

We had the Thai coconut tacos today - chicken was lovely but not totally convinced the carrot and cucumber salad went very well. BBQ chicken with macaroni cheese tomorrow.

SpamIAm, my parents had the Thai wraps yesterday. They said they were nice and filling but didn’t seem wowed by them.
The BBQ chicken mac & cheese dish looks good.

I have a box arriving on Wednesday. I have ordered the cod with coconut curry, Marmite chicken burger, smoky Spanish chicken and the BBQ chicken with sweet corn fritters.

Chicken Kiev from MindfulChef was very nice as was classic burgers. Next week one dish is Chinese five spice pork which I’m looking forward to

I must say, the Mindful Chef meals do sound really nice. Do they taste a bit more special than the Gousto ones?

Got one box free and then £22 off another one (just ordered 3 meals for that one - can't complain about 3 meals for £5!). In total we have:

Mexican style beef with crispy potato top
Smoked sausage hot dogs
Lamb and mushroom ragu with penne
Mexican style beef pasta bake
Chipotle chicken
Teriyaki beef
Chicken fried rice
Super cheesy oven baked tomato risotto

Not hugely inspired by any of them but I'm sure they'll all be nice enough!

My friend had the Mexican beef recently and said it was really good.

I am having a go at the Cajun spiced seabass this evening.
