Gusto boxes

Just started the gusto boxes. Would anyone like to swap recipe choices? / hints?

I’m cooking the prawn farfalle today - about to serve it for lunch but baffled the online recipe and physical recipe card don’t match. One says rocket one says pea shoots - I assume that’s a sub but weird that it’s the physical version that’s correct!

Has anyone else made this one? Or have any tips on choosing gusto meals?

I have just received an email from Gousto offering me 20% off it I order before tomorrow. I wasn’t going to order for next week but this has just persuaded me to!

It was Marmite with a kick. The glaze has honey and caynene pepper in it, so it wasn't just marmite. The best burger I've ever had from Gousto without a doubt.

We had a hello fresh dish tonight - chipotle chicken with potatoes and veg. Except they didn't send any chicken. Nor any soured cream. Sigh.

We had pork steaks in Apple and onion gravy today from MindfulChef- very nice for Sunday lunch

My sister had missing fish with her HF meal and some of the wrong ingredients and she ended up with about £25 credit.

They've given us £10.80 credit. Hoping we can use it alongside the £10 discount we've got from the offer we used but I suspect we won't be able to...

I don’t think they allow you to add credit to discount codes which is a bit rubbish.

I have just had the Gousto sweet corn fritters with BBQ chicken. It was nice but nothing amazing.

What’s everyone having this week?

I gave a box coming later in the week and have gone for the halloumi salad, king prawn tikka naan, spicy chicken skewers and the satay chicken curry.

We are pausing for a few weeks but getting some more boxes from late July on.

Dp pointed out tonight that since we started having meal boxes over 4 months ago the dds have become much less fussy with food, particularly the little one. They still don’t eat everything we get but will try more stuff eg they both ate the pork steaks baked in an apple and onion sauce with mash

I was going to pause for a few weeks too but they sent me a 20% off email so I changed my mind!

That’s great that the boxes have got your children trying new foods. My boys are older but frustratingly unadventurous when it comes to trying new things.

I am making the Marmite burger this evening

Enjoyed the Marmite burger and had enough of the chicken left over to put on DH’s sandwich for work tonight.
I did have to walk out of the kitchen after frying up the chicken in the glaze as the whole kitchen smoked up so much it was making me cough! Maybe I will cook on a much lower heat if I try it again!

Prawn tikka naan tonight. Was tasty but wasn’t sure it would be filling enough for DH so added rice to his.

Were they stingy with the prawns? Gousto behaves as though decent seafood costs more than diamonds.

Ha, I would agree with you there! Let’s say that if I were ever to recreate this dish then I would definitely add more prawns!
