Who wants to enter here please. This will be fab. Now we have to find some judges. I think we should put thread in chat and ask someone to judge based on their credentials Obviously they will be only looking at a pic not tasting. We need rules as well??? Good idea or not.

tis here

Pennies · 18/06/2007 11:33

Not sure I can face another drubbing to be honest. Confidence at an all time low. Thinking of ditching all baking equipment and only ever making soup from now on.

Gasp! A Rosette of Merit!

Thank you judges! And many congrats to Slubber, whose presentation and sifting from a height was one of the funniest things I've seen in ages!

Slubberdegullion · 18/06/2007 12:52

OH MY GOD

I Won!

yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee,

and twirl and twirl and star jump

and handstand up against the wall.

Oh I never won a red rosette in my life, didn't even pass my cycling proficiency so this is an exteremely wonderful moment.

I'm going to go and have a little moment (with green wimbledon towel over my head) and then come back with thanks to all who helped me achieve this most coveted of awards.

ChippyMinton · 18/06/2007 13:00

omwards and upwards eh, slubber? next stop real life show!!

VeryBigCake · 18/06/2007 13:02

groove can be contacted via CAT through me

Slubberdegullion · 18/06/2007 13:05

OK, I have my badly fitting pink silk dress on now, and am ready to proceed.

Thank you first to UCM for organising this competition, and making the beautiful rosettes, and to MrsCake for judging (and what a fine judge you made if I may be so bold).

From the original VSC thread I would like to mention Chippy who recommended the Hugh FW recipe, and to SMS who advised on McDougals supreme sponge flour. And to all the ladies who encouraged the use of ingredients at room temperature. And of course the 'high sift'.

I, I..

I would not have got to where I am today without the high sift.

You know ladies, this is by far the silliest thing I have done in quite some time. God it was fun

now where's this cup cake thread then.......

janemw · 18/06/2007 13:20

Congratulations Sluber... Well done, the high sift cracked it!!

Soapbox, I'm rather appalled and saddened that you think I would buy a cake and pass it off as my own, I really did make the cake all by myself, you must obviously be very jealousof my cake making skills!!!

Onto next competition, to prove myself as worthy winner!!

ChippyMinton · 18/06/2007 13:36

UCM have CAT you on Groove's behalf

UCM · 18/06/2007 14:43

Slub, check yer email luv

OP posts:
Slubberdegullion · 18/06/2007 15:55

UCM, do I need to do the CAT business?

have just checked my bulk e-mails, thought this one might be you (entitled 'from Victoria')

"EVER DREAM OF MIND-BLOWING LOVE-MAKING THAT NEVER FAIL TO SATISFY?

Well, you don't need to dream anymore. At last there is a solution to
all
your bedroom setbacks. The Vibrating Ring is the latest toy taking the
world
by storm. It's fun, safe, easy-to-use, and it's available now."

So that's not you then UCM, unless the vibrating ring is a prize in addition to the wonderful rosette.

UCM · 18/06/2007 16:04

Well I thought you might like it as you got kinky with a sieve

you could just email me your addy on sarah6151 at blueyonder dot co dot uk.

And YES you have to have the bloody rosette. Took me ages

OP posts:
Slubberdegullion · 18/06/2007 16:11

of course I want the rosette.

I LOVE the rosette.

It's the most beautiful prize I have ever been awarded.

Will try to e-mail you now

Slubberdegullion · 18/06/2007 16:22

done

MrsFish · 18/06/2007 17:00

WELL DONE Slubberdegullion, you were my winner too Of course if I had managed to get some butter I would have given you a run for your money ;)

MrsTweedy · 18/06/2007 17:29

Oh fantastic, congratulations Slubberdegullion! You really deserve it, you showed true dedication to the art of baking! Well done to MommyUpNorth and GrooveisinTheHeart too I think it's all splendid!

ChippyMinton · 18/06/2007 17:35

MrsFish, get some butter and join the cupcake comp.

MrsFish · 18/06/2007 17:46

I have been shopping today and have all the ingredients, have spent the afternoon making lemon drizzle cake :lick::yumyum:

SlightlyMadScientist · 18/06/2007 17:49

My word this has been fun....Congrates to the VSC royal family - Slubs, MUN and Groovey.

Was just talking last week about getting a cupcake tray and baking lucnhbox cakes rather than buying mini-rolls all the time...sadly I think it might just tip DP over the edge

UCM · 18/06/2007 18:07

Surely you all have to namechange to your new titles.

OP posts:
SlightlyMadScientist · 18/06/2007 18:13

Yeah I have just realised I could have been SMSpongecake...a bit late now
