So will he be!

ViciousSquirrelSpotter · 21/06/2007 21:42

So that 9 oz of sugar - is it all caster sugar?

MarsLady · 22/06/2007 02:03

Yes!

looseleaf · 22/06/2007 13:09

Oh help, I've just read some of this post properly - my cake is in completely the wrong tin!! It is in a small round tin and no wonder it is nearly hitting the top of the oven and still not ready after 50mins!

Still, am loving MN's shared enthusiasm for getting busy baking... Thanks MarsLady and I can't wait to eat the results despite mine looking a bit like an overgrown muffin

Also I don't have any icing sugar, whoops.

MarsLady · 22/06/2007 13:13

Just mix granulated sugar with the COLD lemon juice. It'll be a nice crunch topping!

I do hope your oven survives the oversized cake!

right... must bake for the school fair. Hmmmmmmmmmm..... maybe a .... oh I don't know..... ldc?

RubberDuck · 22/06/2007 13:14

Am confused .. WHY would you want to freeze it?! None survives long enough in our house to actually FREEZE any of it.

You're nutters.

MarsLady · 22/06/2007 13:16

PMSL!!!!!!!!!!! Well put RubberDuck

looseleaf · 22/06/2007 13:16

Oh brilliant, will try that (with caster sugar if that won't be a disaster, I'm clearly woefully equipped). Off to have another peek in the oven! Thanks so much for the help!

looseleaf · 22/06/2007 13:29

That seemed to work! It's the biggest muffin I've ever seen and I'm finding it very hard not to tuck straight in

MarsLady · 22/06/2007 13:53

Don't tuck in. If you start you'll stay till you finish..... lol

Housemum · 22/06/2007 14:36

If I eat the whole cake, does this count towards two portions of fruit???

RubberDuck · 22/06/2007 14:39

abso-bloody-lutely.

Have a glass of wine with it as well - THREE portions of fruit

looseleaf · 22/06/2007 16:05

All the butter must be rather good for calcium intake too?!!

MrsFish · 22/06/2007 17:33

...and protein from the eggs

RubberDuck · 22/06/2007 18:22

Cor, it's practically a health food...

MrsFish · 22/06/2007 18:41
Grin
MarsLady · 22/06/2007 18:42

ssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... stop mentioning LDC. Rumour has it that.... it's not an original Marslady recipe!

RubberDuck · 22/06/2007 18:51

Anyway, with your name I think you should invent a traybake with main ingredient being Mars Bars... get to it...

MarsLady · 22/06/2007 18:58

Funny you should say that.............
