i really want to start planning meals for the week so that we stop just going out for expensive food from M&S at the last minute.
i'm making a chicken casserole tonight (for tomorrow) and realised i didn't have any onions. Phoned DH who was out and about and he brought home three large-ish brown onions from Marks whihc cost £1.59. For, let me repeat, THREE onions. THREE

Just found this thread. I started menu planning when ds was tiny - it meant that we always had the ingredients for whatever we were going to eat, so whoever was around could start cooking. Worked brilliantly - mother, mother in law, friends could just get on with it without bothering me when I was sitting in a milky haze on the sofa. I've just carried on doing it, AND to my amazement as a unexpected bonus, ds who is now 10 has started to sometimes look at the plan and start cooking! It's lovely to see her - she feels SO grown up and looks so serious as she gets on with it!

well, I have begged already, went down on my knees... really I don't know what I must do anymore.

I can see you lot all want me to remain the UselessMum I am...
