Here's the previous thread where it all began!

EatBetterers are trying to improve the diets of ourselves and our families. No weighing, restricting, calorie counting etc - just finding joy in nourishing ourselves by making positive changes one step at a time. All welcome! :)

Thanks folks Thanks

Will make it my aim to be compassionate today. Couldn't get tesco delivery til late tonight so can't even do laundry and stuff, will be a relaxing day. Since after crying on DH I managed to fall down the stairs! FFS! Am ok but a little sore, no real damage. It was only part way.

Thanks for all the ideas for freezing. I'm going to write a big list and discuss with DH later. Will need to go Tupperware shopping too I think :o

Oh no fuzz - are you OK? Hope so.

fuzzpig · 10/07/2014 08:18

I'm ok really just need a gentle day I think. Off to walk DCs to school now, when I come back I might try and sleep (hardly ever do that but didn't sleep well last night) but then will try and do nice gentle things.

Sleep is very healing and in the past I've had to sleep a lot when adjusting meds. Hope it helps a bit x

Cantdothisagain · 10/07/2014 08:23

Yes, gentle sustaining things. Be kind to yourself.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 10/07/2014 08:24

Thanks prosecco that sounds lovelyThanks

holmessweetholmes · 11/07/2014 10:10

Hope you're feeling better, fuzzpig. I had a very delicious breakfast this morning - sliced banana, drizzled with some rather runny almond butter. It felt very indulgent. Bit of a hiccup on the house-selling front here, but am trying not to let it get me down.

Unfortunately I also seem to have an allergic reaction to something - hives all over me. I had this a few years back and it lasted 4 months! GP and specialist had no idea what was causing it and just told me to keep on taking the Piriton. It eventually went away but I never worked out what I was allergic to. Hope it doesn't last 4 months this time!

Sleepwhenidie · 11/07/2014 13:31

Oh blimey holmes, sounds bad. Something you encountered on your run or was it food do you think?

How are you today fuzz? Go on, start the new thread Wink

Still, can't wait to hear more about your 'breakthroughs' Smile, all sounds good.

Dame it is hard not to think like that when someone comments on weight loss, but try and take it in the spirit I'm sure it was intended Smile. Sounds like you are looking good!

I had deliciouslyella's overnight oats and chia seed breakfast with berries, it was indeed delicious. I've also just made energy balls for DH who is about to head to the Alps for a lot of cycling. I did the coconut and tahini ones from Hemsley Hemsley and chocolate and matcha ones too.

Fuzz and Holmes, hope you're having better days today. Hope your house move hiccup is resolving Holmes - we're moving house next week and have a couple of hiccups of our own to clear up too. Fingers crossed all round! We also have to seriously declutter - the new flat is three quarters the size of our current, not particularly large flat, so I won't be concentrating that hard on eating better for the next week or so, although I will try to eat as nourishing lay as possible under the circs. Fuzz, I've been lurking on your other thread, picking up tips for minimalism.

Sleep, I wanted to thank you for the Slow Down Diet recommendation, the book arrived yesterday and looks great. I'm hoping to start following the eight week programme once we've unpacked.

Neeko · 12/07/2014 16:39

Hi all. Hope you are all having a good weekend.
Notmaisie. I'm decluttering today too. 2 bin bags of clothes, 1 of toys and 1 of rubbish so far today and counting Smile
Off to look for Fuzz's other thread now.

MY TEEN DS JUST ATE BROWN RICEShock Shock Shock Shock Shock Shock Shock

Sleepwhenidie · 13/07/2014 08:43

Dame Grin you really make me laugh! What a breakthrough Grin!

Decluttering here too, we have a big pile for the tip and a big pile for charity. Such a great feeling clearing stuff out! We rent our house out in the holidays which gives a great discipline in not hoarding junk and also getting little jobs done that would otherwise get left for ages. Its a hassle to do it all as well as preparing and packing but so lovely when it's done - just before we leave it looks like a brand new house!

The sea bass sounds delicious Proseccoco

shortaris1 · 13/07/2014 11:19

MMm that sea bass sounds lovely proseccoco. I've had a few nice meals this week in amongst the crap. Travelling with work one day so ate a lot of rubbish that day and a busy week in general but did have Gok's ginger chicken one night and one late shift at work and a lovely prawn and veg stirfry last night.

Also made lunch out of bits that were floating about before I'd shopped with a cous cous and chickpea salad with an oil, lemon juice, ginger, cumin and coriander dressing. Lovely!

Hope you're feeling a bit better fuzz. Take it easy.

Cantdothisagain · 13/07/2014 20:33

Some lovely sounding meals here!

I can heartily recommend Moroccan chicken from the Hemsley sisters book - tasty and nourishing and delicious. Yum.

Making their sea bream teriyaki for the fourth time tomorrow too...

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 14/07/2014 15:52

fuzzpig · 14/07/2014 16:09
