This is what I used. It needed a couple of coats and the first one looked really stripey with brush strokes, but it got there in the end. It seems sticky at first, but as long as you give it enough time to properly dry between coats, it's fine.

Using foam makeup sponges (new ones, obviously!) give a smoother finish than brushes for that metallic paint. I did a cake with deep blue paint and forgot to wear gloves...

Ooo, good idea! I bought a little pack of childrens painting brushes and sponges to add to my tool collection too. I didn't think of that!

Aw treacle, they are just great. I have a cake to make soon with bunting hanging from poles, it is easy to do?

It is very straightforward nanny. I didn't have a triangle cutter so I just used a star cutter and used the points. Dead handy :)
