Invited to a vegan wedding

I'm a carnivore but they aren't catering for me. I've got to eat vegan food.

When they came to my wedding, I gave them a vegan menu in the day and evening and they had vegan favours on the table.

This is a serious question - why aren't they catering for my chosen diet? I'm not going to make a fuss about it with them, but I think it's bloody rude!

Get yerself a family bucket KFC and tuck into that at the table!

moondog · 05/04/2006 21:57

Did they ask for yuo to sort them vegan meals??

mancmum · 05/04/2006 21:58

think it is a morality thing though -- they don't want their money to go to an industry they don't agree with... it is their day and their choice... jsut as it is yours to boycott it and eat sausage rolls all day in protest!

sue them for causing your personal pain and suffering.

Rhubarb · 05/04/2006 22:04

Just imagining Moomin getting a pork sausage out of her handbag at a Jewish wedding! lol!

thewomanwhosnotmeanttobehere · 05/04/2006 22:05

you're taking the piss? or are you really a carnivore? doesn;t it do funny things to your digestive system?

oops · 05/04/2006 22:05

dont forget to wear your plastic wellies and not leather shoes so as not to offend.

Mamu · 06/04/2006 00:10

You can take my brother, he famously asked in a vegetarian restaurant "where's the meat?!" imagine the fun at a vegan wedding!!!!!!WinkBlush

Skribble · 06/04/2006 00:30

Seriously you will be fine eating vegan for 1 meal unlike a vegan eating meat for 1 meal. I had a full on vegi diet due to work trip for 10 days and it had a few but not serious side effects. It was worse though going back to meat.

Skribble · 06/04/2006 00:31

I would actually be looking forward to it and interested to see what they will be serving. What were you favours BTW frazzle?

frazzledrocks · 07/04/2006 21:50

I'm totally serious.

Yes, they asked me to cater vegan food at my wedding. I did, obviously, that goes without saying. The ordinary favours involved chocolate so the vegan ones had skittles and other things in them.

I really enjoy vegetarian food most of the time, I just wonder how come it's ok to enforce your choice of diet on 80 guests when you expect to attend weddings and have your own needs catered for??

Not even any cow's milk in my coffee. I actually don't like soya milk.

And they both wear leather biker jacket.

Purleeeease.

They are exercising their right to have their wedding day the way they want it

You can exercise yours by choosing not to go if you cant be bothered to enjoy it

Vegan food really isnt that bad - After all they are only asking you to share one meal with them, surely that is not too much too ask
