Help! Best chocolate in the world and I can't find it again.

This is such a middle-class crisis but I'm beyond caring.

A few months ago I bought a bar of dark chocolate with cherry and almond filling (not chunks of almond, a paste, more like marzipan) from a branch of Whole Foods Market. I loved it and was craving it today, but when I went to look for it they didn't have it and the assistant told me, basically, 'Computer says no'. I would just find another stockist and crawl over hot coals for it order it online or whatever, but I can't remember the brand name. I've Googled 'cherry and almond chocolate' to no avail.

Does ANYONE have any idea what chocolate I'm on about? It was about the size of a Green & Blacks big bar, dark packaging. I have an idea that the brand was German and that it had some buzzword like 'organic', 'biodynamic' or some such on the label.

TIA!

I live next to a wholefoods if you'd like me to check in there?

(Although if you're in Scotland it means you use the same one and that would be entirely useless.)

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 16/02/2012 17:23

Aw, thanks! No, I'm in London and the Kensington megastore doesn't have it, which I fear means that the whole company have stopped stocking it. Sad

Are you in Glasgow then? I used to live there.

Oops, sorry if that's too much info ? you don't have to answer!

HugeFurryWishingStool · 16/02/2012 17:25

is it this?

wildstrawberryplace · 16/02/2012 17:25

this?

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 16/02/2012 17:27

WishingStool, no. Sad It's a big bar, not individual size.

wildstrawberry, no, but that does sound good. The one I had didn't have chunks or big bits of almond.

Thanks both!

Oops, BelleEnd, x-posted! Thanks but no, it isn't.

I am in Glasgow LadyClarice. Do you miss it?

I can picture the thing in my head as last time I was in I was lurking in the sweets aisle and can remember thinking 'Cheeky buggers that looks identical to Green and Blacks'

Will go in tomorrow or Saturday and report back to you!

belgo · 16/02/2012 17:31

this?

BelleEnd · 16/02/2012 17:32

Ooooh montezuma choc is lovely but £££...

This?

mrscumberbatch · 16/02/2012 17:34

Have just facebooked our local Wholefoods as well to see if they can get me the info quicker!

hupa · 16/02/2012 17:34

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 16/02/2012 17:36

belgo, no, but thanks! I love Montezuma's other chocolate and that one sounds fabulous.

BelleEnd, by God that might be it! Have a bunch of Thanks and a cup of Brew and some Wine. Sadly, I still think they don't do it in Whole Foods any more ...

mrscumberbatch, thank you, how lovely. Re Glasgow, no, honestly, I don't. I loved living there but by the time I left I was ready to leave ? it was starting to feel a bit small. It is a fab place though and I was there in the early/mid 90s when there seemed to be a lot of money and energy around, lots of stylish bars, new clubs, coffee shops, good music scene etc. It was a very very fun time.

Heh heh, just coming on to sugest the choco love one, but see it's been linked to. Not german though - a red herring by jove.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 16/02/2012 17:41

Yes, sorry, not at all sure where I got the German thing from!

It could still NOT be chocolove, of course ? I might have it wrong ...

It's interesting now LadyClarice, still some stylish bars, a great independent shopping scene and indie art spaces.

No money though Wink and it is too small for it's own good.

I have family in London and I enjoy visiting but I like that I know every inch of Glasgow's history and quirky bits whereas with London it would take me a lifetime to get to grips with!

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 16/02/2012 17:42

By the way mrscumberbatch, I'm terribly sorry but I think you're sadly mistaken; I'M Mrs Cumberbatch, so hands off. Grin

I'll fight you to the death. En garde!

I have been trying to persuade DP to adopt an Aquascutum overcoat ala Benny but he thinks I'm a pervert!

wildstrawberryplace · 16/02/2012 17:45

LadyClarice - sadly the only thing you can do to verify is munch your way through all the bars suggested. It's a tough job, but somebody has to do it Grin

belgo · 16/02/2012 17:46

It doesn?t really sound like a belgian chocolate combination. Marzipan is more popular in Germany.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 16/02/2012 17:49

wildstrawberry, yes, yes, you may be right. I'll do it for the greater good.

Dark packaging does sound like montezumas. Ill be there tomorrow, so expect to see a flock of mumsnetters pondering over the shelves. And for the record, the best chocolate in the world is actially Amelia Rose (also available in Wholefoods).

Is this a Glasgow get-together thread? I lived there too. What's the Glasgow branch of wholefoods like? Someone told me it was near the docks.

SlinkyB · 16/02/2012 17:52

Ah man, this thread has made me crave a Cherry Ripe. Bloody love those things. Only ever seen them in Oz though; anyone know if anywhere in England sells them? (apologies for thread hijack but see you're sorted now OP!).

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 16/02/2012 17:52

Frontpaw, what's Amelia Rose chocolate like?

And it wasn't a Glasgow get-together thread, but it could be! I haven't been for a few years so don't know about the Whole Foods.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 16/02/2012 17:53

Oh by the way mrscumberbatch, it was a Belstaff coat, not Aquascutum.
