Help! Best chocolate in the world and I can't find it again.

This is such a middle-class crisis but I'm beyond caring.

A few months ago I bought a bar of dark chocolate with cherry and almond filling (not chunks of almond, a paste, more like marzipan) from a branch of Whole Foods Market. I loved it and was craving it today, but when I went to look for it they didn't have it and the assistant told me, basically, 'Computer says no'. I would just find another stockist and crawl over hot coals for it order it online or whatever, but I can't remember the brand name. I've Googled 'cherry and almond chocolate' to no avail.

Does ANYONE have any idea what chocolate I'm on about? It was about the size of a Green & Blacks big bar, dark packaging. I have an idea that the brand was German and that it had some buzzword like 'organic', 'biodynamic' or some such on the label.

TIA!

Both of those Zotter ones sound GOOD. Thanks! ppeatfruit, I don't think it was Zotter I was thinking of. I like dark choc but could happily handle 60%, especially with cherry and vanilla. No, I'm not into Upstairs Downstairs; watched it when it first came back (last year? year before?) and didn't think it was that great. I'm a bit short of good telly at the mo but am liking Inside Men.

Miomio, I used to work in Edinburgh and sometimes went out for drinks/dinner/films etc in the evenings. Native Edinburghers (is that right?) seemed to think it was wonderful. I always wondered whether I was missing something because I used to think it was a bit rubbish. Glad to hear someone else isn't sold on it.

miomio do you know the Italian deli and restaurants Valvona and Crolla? We love them and always go when we're at the Festival. I envy anyone who lives in a town with them in it Envy

Yes there are quite a few V&C about as well as the original. I'm maybe being a bit harsh - it is a beautiful city to live in - yesterday I walked through the meadows, up George IV bridge and down the mound to go to the piss poor shops Grin and it was stunningly lovely. Must have been in about 20 tourists photos too!

I'm just finding it a bit frustrating to live here - no trains to hop about on - just v slow buses so getting places takes an age, lots of tourists, the piss poor shops close early, don't even get me started on the Gyle. Wagamamas only arrived 2 months ago ffs! It is like other places 10/20 years ago which I guess is part of its charm!

Miomio There'll be trams soon won't there? Grin or have they cancelled them? Yes the tourists would annoy me too! But the castles and setting are magical.

You should try living in the wilds of Fr. it's like 50 yrs ago here although we're by the amazing historic town of Richelieu there's hardly a tourist to be seen!! we love the peace but it's probably an age thing!!

Sorry for hijacking yr thread clarice. I'm going to give Up. Downs. a chance tonight I'm loving Call the Midwife though.

That's all right! I don't mind a bit of whinging about small towns. Smile

Quiggins do a cherry marzipan bar, covered in chocolate, if that might tickle your tastebeuds.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 22/02/2012 10:04

Thanks polly! I might have to give them my custom, just for sounding like something straight out of Charles Dickens.
