Blitz
The Killer ( I wish I had waited to watch it on. Netflix rather than paying to see this at the cinema)
Conclave
Furiosa
The Room Next Door. Probably the worst for me.

It ends with us. What a crock of shite.

Readytoevolve · 25/12/2024 10:56

The Bob Marley one. I was bitterly disappointed

Ironfloor269 · 25/12/2024 10:57

That Avatar sequel. What a load of shite. I want that 3 hours of my life back…😭

Yes! I had forgotten that one completely! Good acting but it just did nothing in terms of me learning more about Bob Marley.

I was bored by the first one but found myself liking this. Maybe it was because I had low expectations.

I am going to say Beetlejuice 2 as well. They should have left the film where it belonged, namely in the 80’s.

Back To Black
Back To Black
Back To Black
Back To Black
Back To Black

Honourable mentions; The Beast which was pretentious shite, and All Of Us Strangers which left me completely cold (both were very well thought of IIRC).

I loved Joker: Folie A Deux, which I suspect will turn up on most of the years' biggest bombs list although it won't beat Megalopolis Grin

westisbest1982 · 25/12/2024 11:30

Back to Black stands out as the worst. I felt embarrassed for Lesley Manville and Eddie Marsan.

All of us Strangers was also disappointing - the writer/director can’t do emotion.

Purplecatshopaholic · 25/12/2024 11:33

Red One. Just fuckin awful! Furiosa probably second - long winded, self indulgent shite.

poodledoodles · 25/12/2024 11:37

Agree with the Bob Marley one- I love Bob and am a huge fan but the film portrayed him like he was Jesus - it became clear at the end credits because it was produced by his family. I mean, I get it, they want to portray him in a good light but bloody hell, it was so sanitised I am surprised they didnt have him wear a halo or turn water into wine. Its a shame because its often our flaws that make us interesting

Livinginaclock · 26/12/2024 21:15

The Colour Purple
Absolutely shit, they should never have remade it, also hated Back to Black.

God, The Colour Purple wasn't just abysmal, it was offensive. I remember intending to walk out but it was pouring with rain so I stayed (at least two other people left).

bifurCAT · 26/12/2024 21:46

Hot Frosty

Watch it, I dare you...

TheFTrain · 26/12/2024 21:48

Tar.

What a load of overacted codswallop.

I was utterly horrified at how dreadful it was, I couldn't quite believe what they'd done to it.

kikisparks · 26/12/2024 22:14

Garfield, we walked out.

CleanHouseGoals · 27/12/2024 14:13

I sat through Tar also and it was quite odd.

Alien Romulus just ran out of steam halfway through. Too videogame influenced I think. A worrying future trend.

Disgustin · 28/12/2024 21:56

Wicked. I walked out half way through it. Life is far far too short for that movie. Honorary mention to it ends with us. Current,y renting it on sky so have to stick it out

WhatWouldPhylissCraneDo · 28/12/2024 21:58

Layla
MethGator

YourGladSquid · 29/12/2024 00:12

I Saw the TV Glow seemed good in theory, but I couldn’t even finish it.

I went to see this after falling for a load of bollocks hype (and the trailer looked OK) and was so bored I fell asleep. Try-hard crap.

My (revised) Top 5:
Back To Black
The Beast
The Colour Purple
I Saw The TV Glow
Back To Black (sure it was that bad Grin)

It does look as if most posters had the good instinct to avoid Megalopolis and Madame Web, as did I 😀

Inspirationpending · 29/12/2024 12:03

Long legs - over hyped pile of codswallop

marthaisintheway · 29/12/2024 12:04

Gladiator 2. Boring as fuck and Paul Mescal was underwhelming

PuppyMonkey · 29/12/2024 12:19

Poor Things with Emma Stone. Completely and utterly atrocious.

twilightermummy · 29/12/2024 12:22

Heretic. I'd been really looking forward to it and rented it as my birthday movie. God, after all the rave reviews I was expecting something amazing but, it wasn't even mediocre. It's a shame as I love Hugh Grant but I do think he should stick to comedy roles.

BigDahliaFan · 29/12/2024 12:25

Gladiator 2 was ok but not a patch on the first film.
