Blitz
The Killer ( I wish I had waited to watch it on. Netflix rather than paying to see this at the cinema)
Conclave
Furiosa
The Room Next Door. Probably the worst for me.

[Thread contains some spoilers for recent films - MNHQ]

The Crow remake. The worst film I ever saw in my life! What's worse is we PAID MONEY at the cinema to see it and stayed to the bitter end because we thought it would get better!

It did not.

A drunk man on one side of the (near deserted) cinema started singing along loudly with the one of the songs, and another man on the other side shouted at him to "shut the f**k up!". This was the most entertaining thing that happened during the film.

Nothing could beat the original crow which is why I never bothered to see the new one.

Paddington 3.
Sorry. I was so disappointed. I LOVED the first 2 and we always rewatch them I had high hopes. The woman who replaced Sally Hawkins was awful and there was only one funny moment (about asking for a rather large tumbler). Other than that it was a load of cack

Sweetappley · 03/01/2025 05:00

Paddington 3

not as good as as the fist two

CleanHouseGoals · 06/01/2025 19:39

Challengers. Great poster art. Zendaya OK. But Prince Charles from The Crown and the other guy doing weird tennis actions with a truly awful score from Trent Reznor buzzing and bubbling up all the time.
Was it about a threesome love triangle or Tennis?
Either way I thought it was all over the place.
Wimbledon was better.
There is room.for.a good Tennis movie.
Neither of these tbh are it..

Dune part 2 was boring as hell, won't be bothering with part 3.

I agree with pp that Deadpool and Wolverine was crap too. I loved the first Deadpool and the second wasn't bad but this was just rubbish.

BigDahliaFan · 06/01/2025 20:19

Poor things, got 30 minutes in and had to turn it off. It was such a horrible film.

Semiramide · 06/01/2025 20:30

We live in time - banal would-be weepie that left me dry-eyed

The substance - WTAF......

Crikeyalmighty · 06/01/2025 20:42

I haven't seen many but did see conclave at the Everyman with my 85 year old father in law -he dozed off after 20 minutes and have to admit it bored me rigid

purplespink · 06/01/2025 21:01

Am I the only one that liked Conclave?😂

Am I the only one that liked Conclave?😂

No!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed it. Yes, the bit about the androgynous cardinal of Kabul becoming pope was VERY far fetched, but the performances and the interactions between the cardinals were mesmerizing. Ralph Fiennes deserves an Oscar. Isabella Rosselini was rather good too.

NB: I also loved Heretic...

SpikeGilesSandwich · 06/01/2025 21:29

I enjoyed The Substance very much!

BiggerBoat1 · 06/01/2025 21:36

I absolutely loved Poor Things!

I loved it! It did very well critically too so we are not the only ones.

I have seen it now but maybe you want to put a spoiler warning on in case others haven’t and are planning to?

It ends with us. What a crock of shite.

And now they're all suing each other in order to distract attention from the film and salvage their careers.

You've just spoiled it for a load of people who haven't seen it yet.

Poor things.

Basically a dream come true for paedophile apologisers.

Such a shame as the costumes and scenery were brilliant. The story line and concept, sick, sick sick. 🤢

For those who haven't seen it- beautiful woman is given brain transplant using a baby's brain. So the adult sexualised body plus the innocence of a toddler/child are combined and she goes through sexual awakening and exploration, and exploitation by lots of different men, all with her talking like a child. Oh and she just loves being a prostitute. Of course.

Grim grim grim. Wish I'd never seen it.

Crikeyalmighty · 08/01/2025 12:23

@ooooohnoooooo beautifully done but I felt uncomfortable watching it , gave me the creeps

It's a relief to know that I am not alone in thinking this.

EasternStandard · 08/01/2025 12:35

Not sure when it was made but I endured Trap by M Night Shyamalan recently

So so bad.

I loved it! It did very well critically too so we are not the only ones.

Also loved Conclave and was unexpectedly totally gripped by it but my fave film of last year was 'All of us strangers', which someone upthread hated - horses for courses

sakura06 · 11/01/2025 18:58

I saw Timestalkers which I hated. I wanted to walk out after about 20 minutes which is very rare for me. I loved Alice Lowe's previous film.

I also hated Poor Things but at least found it interesting whereas Timestalkers was oddly boring.

I deliberately didn't see Gladiator II after all the poor comments I heard about it!

Heretic. I'd been really looking forward to it and rented it as my birthday movie. God, after all the rave reviews I was expecting something amazing but, it wasn't even mediocre. It's a shame as I love Hugh Grant but I do think he should stick to comedy roles.

Same. So boring. Love HG.

UpSkilling · 11/01/2025 19:03

Loved Conclave, hated Moana 2, literally the worst thing I've seen in ages.

fretaway · 12/01/2025 01:42

Red One. Glad I didn’t pay to see this as it was so awful we bailed around half an hour in. Even the kids hated it. Wonder why there were so many big name actors in such a crap film - oh wait…a lot of money.
