It was shit. Far far too long. Lots of extra songs that were really unnecessary. Eric was shit and wooden. the animals just looked weird, especially Sebastian. Halle Berry and Melissa McCarthy were both good, but I've never felt any of the live action films were as good as the animations. the magic isn't the same.

Halle Bailey!!

Currently watching and just like the majority of the live action remakes it's absolutely awful.

Halle Bailey!!

It’s a typo. One’s a famous actress. Halle Bailey has a way to go yet! She suited the little mermaid.

so long, 2 hours 20 minutes,
very theatrical songs
i too noticed that suddenly eric was singing on a ship

Only watched about 20 minutes & can't sit through it...the original is too good and watching this just spoils it.
Aladdin re-make was alright but I think The little mermaid was taking things a bit too far...you can't ever get it better than the original.

Just watched this. What a load of shit. 😖 Far too long too! It was 2 and a quarter hours of my life I can never get back, the actress playing Ariel (Halle Bailey,) has a horrible pitchy voice that makes my ears bleed, and the actor playing Eric is an average actor, and can't sing very well.

It's a bad copy of the brilliant animated one from 1989. That was superior in so many ways. Also agree that there are too many extra not-needed songs. What a waste of time, and celluloid. Supposed to be 'live action,' yet most of it is CGI. Melissa McCarthy is the only decent part of it. 1 star. (2/10.) Not recommended.

Agreed

This iscthe same with almost all the older Disney movies. It's only when they bought Pixar they started making movies like Brave etc. Before that they are all Disneyfied Princess crap. Sad that Hans Christian Anderson wrote this story as a cautionary tale of a woman eho gives her life up for a man having to live with the consequences yet 200 years later Disney churned out ' Boy meets girl, fall in love, gives up her entire life and all is well'. Having said that, it was something to watch on Disney + that wasn't a Marvel movie and I quite enjoyed it!
