What is the worst film / most crappiest experience you've ever had in a cinema ?

I'll start. I remember watching the zodiac. I was immature and didn't really understand it-- but it was the most boring film I've ever seen in the cinema.

A few years later I watched Never Let me go. The atmosphere at the end was highly depressive

my big fat Greek wedding, we sat stone faced not getting it while around us people were falling on the floor with laughter.

RaskolnikovsGarret · 07/01/2022 19:17

Phantom Thread. Great reviews and critically acclaimed. Most boring film ever. We were speechless.

CaveyWavey · 07/01/2022 19:17

The Blair Witch Project. Have no idea what all the hype was about unless it was a very clever PR stunt to make money from a very rubbish and totally not scary homemade movie Confused

Greydog · 07/01/2022 19:17

Kelly's Heroes - unmitigated shite, and Blazing Saddles. Both old films, but I can hold a grudge!!

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 07/01/2022 19:17

Oh forget my post @MsTSwift, I’ve just seen the correction post.

OldTinHat · 07/01/2022 19:18

The James Bond film before the recently released one. I didn't bother with that. But I fell asleep during the other one. I would have left but the row was packed and I was in the corner and couldn't get out.

MsTSwift · 07/01/2022 19:18

I loved La La Land and The Favourite. Agree about Mamma Mia though that is a bridge too far.

Spencer was controversial half our group enjoyed it half thought it was crap

MsTSwift · 07/01/2022 19:19

Yes they were arsey about my auto correct!

SquirrelFan · 07/01/2022 19:22

Oh god must agree on The Revenant - the number of times I wished that bear would come back and finish him off!
Walked out of Mars Attacks-it was utter tripe.
The worst, most unredeemable film I've ever walked out of, however, was Natural Born Killers.

Fieldofflowers1 · 07/01/2022 19:24

About a boy

MsTSwift · 07/01/2022 19:25

I quite liked the Revenant can see why people wouldn’t though.

Indiana2021 · 07/01/2022 19:27

Never Let Me Go. I felt exhausted by the end.

NoNameNoOne · 07/01/2022 19:28

Bruno. Utter shite

IJustLovePirates · 07/01/2022 19:28

Forrest Gump

I know everyone raves about it but I just hated his accent in it

Seconding No Country For Old Men, La La Land and AI

Youngstreet · 07/01/2022 19:30

Cats.

Also took dd to see Hercules, she was 5 and fell asleep so we couldn’t leave until she woke up as she used to have meltdowns if woken too soon!

coffeeandcake91 · 07/01/2022 19:31

Employee of the month. Awful!

SalvorHardin · 07/01/2022 19:32

Moshi Monsters the Movie...

I left the cinema feeling like I had been subjected to some form of multi-sensory assault.

It is memorable as the one time I was grateful to my youngest DS for his habit at the time of claiming to need the toilet when he was bored. Unfortunately his sibling & friend were engrossed or we would have left.

Gingerbreadrules · 07/01/2022 19:34

Final Destination 3, in French! While I was a very bored lonely au pair in France.

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 07/01/2022 19:34

I fell asleep during The English Patient.

The only film I’ve ever walked out of was Kenneth Branagh’s Frankenstein.

DH purchased Dune the other week. As I’ve never read the book I couldn’t get into it, so went for a long hot bath instead.

BabySocksNeverStayOn · 07/01/2022 19:34

Natural born killers. Pure crap Hmm

mrmonkeyjocks · 07/01/2022 19:35

Fences. Was not what I was expecting at all, felt like the longest film ever.

This is 40...left feeling very depressed!

TheSpiral · 07/01/2022 19:37

Back to the Future 2. I was so disappointed with it as I had loved the first one.

Strawberrycreams4eva · 07/01/2022 19:37

The Thin Red Line. I think its purpose was to convey the boredom of war. I was 14, and didn’t want to leave the cinema in case something happened.

Waterworld was also dreadful.

Puffinhead · 07/01/2022 19:40

@APurpleSquirrel

Paw Patrol: The Movie - if I wasn't having to keep an eye on DS (3) I'd have had a good nap as it's was a recliner cinema Angry
I feel your pain! Thankfully my kids are older so I do take the opportunity to snooze on the recliners.
Mumoblue · 07/01/2022 19:41

Predators. Thought it was really dumb.

And also this one with Nicholas Cage in where he was a wizard or something? I can’t remember. It was pretty blah.

Both of those were my ex’s choice of film, and even he agreed they were pretty crap.
