Any recommendations for a quirky little gem of a film

The type that doesn't sound great in its synopsis but turned out to be brilliantly entertaining, moving, hysterical. It's probably British. Definitely understated.

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri. Not for kids and a very dark beginning... but it warms up. And full of the unexpected.

People here might know, I watched a film about a guy being a teacher for a child underground? There was some kind of twist, ring a bell with anyone?

I loved this film when I saw it in the cinema back in the day and have never been able to find it since. We went looking for it in lockdown after watching The Dish and being reminded of it and couldn’t find it - do you know where we can watch it?

Parasite is one of the best films I've seen recently

If you like Country, Wild Rose. The main character is slightly infuriating but the music is wonderful.

I loved Martha meets Frank daniel and Lawrence I need to rewatch
And hunt for the wilder people, jojo rabbit and what we do in the shadows

If you like French films the new girlfriend is on bbciplayer, pretty quirky, also happy end.

Not British quirky but vampires v bronx was unexpectedly good and lighthearted but not sure it quite fits the bill

I really enjoyed that peanut butter falcon movie too. When he says the meanest thing he can think of “you’re not coming to my birthday!”. Sooooo good.

I loved dogma when I saw it a few years ago. Funny quirky and very clever. Also the Disaster Artist - once seen never forgotten (in a good way!)
