Any recommendations for a quirky little gem of a film

[waltzingparrot]

The type that doesn't sound great in its synopsis but turned out to be brilliantly entertaining, moving, hysterical. It's probably British. Definitely understated.

I'll offer Marvellous with Toby Jones

Unfortunately no it's not. I just checked

@Letmeoutodhere So sorry for misinformation. I swear it had a blue 'included with Prime's next to it. I've just downloaded for £1.89.

£1.89 is a bargain. You can't get much for that nowadays.

Thanks, I'll watch it tonight.

Just saw "Hunt for the Wilderpeople" at the the cinema - PictureHouse has it on release again. Heartwarming whacky comedy (not for young kids though) and the New Zealand scenery is spectacular.❤

Has Four Lions been mentioned?

Rubber Dinghy Rapids.

Don't think so

Oh schlock horror.

80s Ken Russell film The Lair of the White Worm is on rewind TV at 10pm

Just watched Marvellous. Loved it!

X & Y about a boy with autism and his mum. Very powerful, emotional and heartwarming.

Watched a film last night called Ama Gloria. It was a sweet film, exceptional acting by a 6yr old.

Did you stream it?

You can watch through BFI website or pay on other platforms I think.

Is there just one episode of series one? I am confused.

It's a film, not a series.

I thought that, but it says episode one series one which is odd.

It often says that for films for some reason?

H is for hawk is a good one now on Netflix.

Are we just recommending English language films?

If not, there’s a really funny, sweet film called Laapataa Ladies (ie Lost Ladies) - Hindi, with English subtitles but can be dubbed. Set in early 2000s. It’s wedding season and lots of couples en route to the husbands’ homes. There’s a mix up.

On Netflix

Not at all . Sounds good

Falling Leaves

I’m more than happy to watch a subtitled film

Ken Loach’s The Wind That Shakes The Barley.
It’s about the Irish Civil War and what followed after the Irish War of Independence and the partition of Ireland.
Very sad though. As all wars are. 😢
