I have to say, I wish I'd never watched The Shining (at a sleepover when I was 14). It scared the pants off me!

Anyone else?

OP posts:
abbsismyhero · 28/08/2016 20:11

Cloverfield actually made me vomit

Watchmen who needs to see the blue penis? FFS put some pants ON!

Advicepls7080 · 28/08/2016 20:17

Leather heads
Burn after reading
The visit

In terms of being shite

The conjuring and Insidious in terms of never wanting to sleep alone in the dark again

ShirleyKnotReboot · 28/08/2016 20:18

Yes The Mist. I'd read the story years before so that ending was utterly unexpected. I cried. A lot. And thought about it for a long time after. It fucked my cousin up as well so it's become a bit of a 'thing'

abbsismyhero · 28/08/2016 20:20

Anyone mention gamer yet? Its not a horror movie but I found it horrific and disturbing

RJnomore1 · 28/08/2016 20:20

I'm loving the hobbit being "little fella goes for a stroll"

Brilliant

Advicepls7080 · 28/08/2016 20:21

Oh cabin fever that made me feel sick to my stomach for actual weeks

AndYourBirdCanSing · 28/08/2016 20:23

I'm even too scared to read about what a Siberian film is about as I've seen it mentioned so many times on here

Eden lake was horrific. Also Wolf Creek, Hills have eyes.

I refuse to watch Green Mile again as it made me sob my heart out. It broke me. Never again!

AndYourBirdCanSing · 28/08/2016 20:24

Oh yes the end of the mist!! Sleepers really affected me as well, although I still read the book after

updownnconfused · 28/08/2016 20:26

Martyrs. That film was not a good experience.

Autumnchill · 28/08/2016 20:30

Sleepers. That scene where the camera backs out the room down the corridor while the boy screams, chilling and I didn't sleep for 4 nights straight afterwards

spankhurst · 28/08/2016 20:30

Mamma Mia. Absolute crap.

On another note, I turned over to Suspiria and sat paralysed with terror for the next hour. Still get the shivers 15 years later.

DidoTwiteInnit · 28/08/2016 20:31

Plague Dogs. Just thinking about it depresses the hell out of me. It's awful.

Advicepls7080 · 28/08/2016 20:31

I want to watch some of these scary ones you're talking about but I'm also too scared

hettiebaby · 28/08/2016 20:33

Most disturbing film i ever watched was 'A Serbian Film'......watched under duress at uni. So bizzare it still keeps me awake now if I think about it too much.

WatchMeSoar · 28/08/2016 20:33

The Fog, it terrified me.

Watchmen, misogynistic shite.

The good dinosaur, oh my god.

Threads, even after 30 years it has stayed with me.

regularbutpanickingabit · 28/08/2016 20:36

The ring. Hideous film, still freaks me out several years later!

eurochick · 28/08/2016 20:40

The Hills Have Eyes. Just horrible. It freaked me out in a way no other film has.

That thing with Bjork in it (dancer in the dark?) was just terrible and the closest I have ever come of walking out of the cinema.

EverySongbirdSays · 28/08/2016 20:41

Why has no-one mentioned Deliverance. Sophie's Choice really upset me as well.

Some people have no taste The Godfather? How Dare You!

High Five to the person who said Inside Out almost criminally over-rated

orangebird69 · 28/08/2016 20:44

Legends of the Fall. I fucking hate Julia Ormond now. Slutty McSlutface wad the downfall of all three brothers and I couldn't watch another film with her in it. I was devastated at the end if that film. I'm aware that's very irrational. Blush

Cheekybiscuit · 28/08/2016 20:52

Wolf Creek. Played on my mind for a very long time.

Advicepls7080 · 28/08/2016 20:53

I also wish I had never seen the minions film what the fuck

stopfightingandtidyupthismess · 28/08/2016 20:54

Sunshine. Awful rubbish film. We now use it as a point in rating other films. "Well, it's not as crap as Sunshine!"

Noah. In Dh's words, "Dull, boring and took ages to do nothing". Rated that as almost as crap as Sunshine.

And another vote for the Mist. Awful miserable film with a devastating ending.

And if we're talking about nightmare inducing films, then Childs Play 1 and 2, Robocop 2 and The Cube got me well and truly. I still can't watch any of those 20 odd years later.

Autumnchill · 28/08/2016 20:55

Oh and Scum, that green house scene.......

TheViewFromTheSheepSeats · 28/08/2016 20:55

Requiem for a dream, I'm still haunted/traumatised by it.

paddypants13 · 28/08/2016 20:55

Scum. That rape scene and the suicide scene, I still feel uncomfortable about it.
