I have to say, I wish I'd never watched The Shining (at a sleepover when I was 14). It scared the pants off me!

Anyone else?

This is a thread about horror films, so I'm off kilter anyway. But I saw the worst, worst, worst film EVER last year.

Intestella.

It was supposed to be about the science, science, science. NO.... it was actually "he's behind the bookcase"

Belated spoiler alert, but fear not... it was crap!

nearly 3 hours of my life I'll never get back.... And Michael Caine delivering "do not go gently" over and over again, when Richard Burton's already creamed it. Urrgh! (p.s. mum had RB's version played at my dad's funeral, which is partly why I found MC's version so offensive!)

Watership Down. I watched it as a child and still feel a little disturbed by it!

What Lies Beneath.

Utter drivel, complete bollocks and a total waste of my time.

Still annoys me to this day.

American History X and Leaving Las Vegas.

I don't like pain and suffering and those were much too close to the bone. The bit with the pavement... Just dreadful. Both wonderful films but stayed with me way too much.

Disneys inside out. I know it is a happy kids film, but it really upset me. Probably for very personal reasons and because I was in a bad place when I watched it, but I really, really, really hated it.

The ring and the ring 2. Watched both aged 15 and couldn't sleep properly for years afterwards. Used to have a tv in my room. Now I don't even have a tv in the house.

I STILL hate that I went to the cinema to watch Couples Retreat. Knowing that I helped that shitty film make money really gets my goat.

Lucy gets my vote for the film that started off with potential then defended into drivel!

Nacho Libre gets the vote for the most awful film of all time. Totally wasted my life watching that one.

God, horse yes, I did the same. It was not better dubbed in German, trust me.
Films I regretted investing time and money in include...
Synecdoche, New York
The Science of Sleep
Primer
Arizona Dream

Films I thought did not live up to the hype
Inception
Moulin Rouge
Being John Malkovitch
Adaptation

Films I have long avoided
Human caterpillar (Three films, really?)
Chucky films
A serbian film
Kill List

Another for Wolf Creek. I wish that film had never been made. It's just so nasty. No redeeming features.

Blood Sucking Freaks. Just don't watch it.

Master and Commander. This is actually the most boring film ever made.

I agree about The Road. Pointless and miserable. Also full of holes that make it unbelievable, so why am I going to put myself through this?
