limitedperiodonly · 23/08/2012 19:57

madbuslady your ID is a mystery to me but I love those films especially Hopscotch and most things with Walter Matthau in them.

Taking of Pelham 123 and Charlie Varrick especially

MadBusLady · 23/08/2012 20:00

I meant anyone reading who knew me IRL. But...

Shock

I have NEVER met anyone else outside my family who has seen Hopscotch! I've not seen those others, I will do so.

TheWoollybacksWife · 23/08/2012 20:00

canistartagain I love A Matter of Life and Death. I Sky+ it recently and have it on keep. I also love The Lady Vanishes and Green For Danger. My absolute favourites though would be Rebecca and The Bishop's Wife. I adore B&W films. Grin

NutmegKate · 23/08/2012 20:01

MadBusLady - Hopscotch Walter Matthau and Glenda Jackson?

I'd forgotten all about that. Another good one.

MadBusLady · 23/08/2012 20:02

Green for Danger! Hooray for Alistair Sim!

limitedperiodonly · 23/08/2012 20:03

Make sure you don't get the remake of Pelham 23 with John TRavolta. It's not just his wig that's bad.

MadBusLady · 23/08/2012 20:05

Nutmeg Kate Yes! I must have seen it at some impressionable time in my teens or something because I wanted to be both her (smart, sorted, single ex-spy lady) and him (lazy, friendly, fiendishly clever, addicted to classical music etc).

Gosh, TWO other people have seen it.

ThePigOnTheWall · 23/08/2012 20:05

Twelve Angry Men

And I love

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest

Moggin · 23/08/2012 20:07

WoollyBack I NEED to watch Rebecca. I love the book and love Hitchcock so it's bizarre that I've never seen it

moulesvinrouge · 23/08/2012 20:08

I am so glad there was a shout for Roadhouse!!

I love Synechdoche New York (terrible spelling probably)
Happiness
Dead Poets Society
Singin in the Rain
Gentlemen Prefer Blondes
Breakfast at Tiffanys
Cocktail
Pretty in Pink
Pans Labyrinth
Breaking the Waves (wails)

Happiestinwellybobs · 23/08/2012 20:09

Mine are:

The Usual Suspects
The Truman Show
Pretty Woman

And at Christmas I have to watch:

Love Actually (has to be watched whilst wrapping Christmas presents)
Home Alone
Groundhog Day (I can watch this over and over again - hahaha)

MadBusLady · 23/08/2012 20:09

It's a bit creaky. But great. Young Laurence Olivier

limitedperiodonly · 23/08/2012 20:09

I think I might know Green for Danger.

While I'm looking, can I recommend Went The Day Well?

Fantastic imagination of a Nazi invasion of a lovely English village made in 1940-something

MadBusLady · 23/08/2012 20:10

Ah, Christmas is a little different.

In the Bleak Midwinter (A Midwinter's Tale I think in the US)
Bernard and the Genie
Holiday Inn

MrsKeithRichards · 23/08/2012 20:10
