lurkingaround · 23/08/2012 17:10

Ooh, also love Fargo. And Oh Brother Where Art Thou. Fantastic.

RubixCube · 23/08/2012 17:10

It* Fgs where did the , come from.

WhitegoldWielder · 23/08/2012 17:10

I have to add UP too - Pixar it maybe but I think it's brilliant.

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 23/08/2012 17:12

At this exact moment I'd have to say Thor as every time I spot it on one of the Sky movies channels I stick it on to wind DH up and end up rewatching it all.

Films I can watch over and over again (so I guess qualify as favourites)
Any Marvel ones (I love Iron Man)
Harry Potter (Half Blood Prince and DH Pt2)
Either RDJ Sherlock film
Any Star Wars
Any Indiana Jones
10 Things I Hate About You
Knights Tale
Star Gate
Any X Men

I watch films purely for escapism. I can watch (and enjoy) 'worthy' films but I don't go back to them. They don't excite me the way Fantasy/SciFi films do. I like films (and books) I can lose myself in.

Waspie · 23/08/2012 17:12

Oh I love UP! Lovely movie. Bolt and Monsters Inc too.

BlueMagoo · 23/08/2012 17:15

Coprolite · 23/08/2012 17:16

Betty Blue

limitedperiodonly · 23/08/2012 17:16

I knew I was right about Shane.

A friend who loves Westerns as much as I do (yy to The Searchers whitegold) got quite upset and refused to believe it when I said.

I also like The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance.

And High Noon and just about everything else.

Of the Western revivals I liked Unforgiven but found Costner's Open Range exceedingly dull and crappy.

I also like both versions of 3.10 To Yuma.

I can't remember much about Dances With Wolves except that it was very long. I think I liked it.

It's never a happy finish for a dog in one of Costner's films. Marginally better than giving him a massage at a golf club though.

RubixCube · 23/08/2012 17:18

I love Labyrinth.I'll never get tired of that film.I like Ella Enchanted and Princess Diaries.I love films like that

MrsKeithRichards · 23/08/2012 17:20

Yes to elf over and over again.

Faves are Easy Rider, Goodfellas, Get Him to the Greek, Forrest Gump and monsters inc.

RubixCube · 23/08/2012 17:22

The heavenly kid.I like old 80s films.I'm More into them than the newer stuff

WithACherryOnTop · 23/08/2012 17:37

Ladder 49 was supposed to be on my list.

muffinino82 · 23/08/2012 17:39

A Knights Tale Grin

The knight, the lady, the poet, the fonger Wink, the farrier, the heart, the horse, the prince, the villain, the phoenix and the rose

limitedperiodonly · 23/08/2012 17:51

Goodfellas is the only Scorsese film I liked but I couldn't watch it again mrskeithrichards. I don't know why.

It's not the violence. I like a lot of violent films - I loved Eastern Promises, though it's a bit silly, and A History of Violence. But maybe that's because I love Viggo Mortensen, especially knife fighting naked Wink.

It's not as if I haven't tried with Marty. I've been underwhelmed by Mean Streets, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, The Age of Innocence, The Aviator, Shutter Island, Casino, Gangs of New York (what a load of crap that was).

Never seen the Departed. Might as well give it a try next time it's on. It's on enough

GothAnneGeddes · 23/08/2012 17:56

Very pleased to see Goodbye Lenin on here. It is an absolutely wonderful film. Pretty much anything with Daniel Bruhl is worth watching, he's a marvellous actor.

Raise the Red Lantern - Gong Li showing why she's a legend.

Romanzo Criminale, like an Italian version of Goodfellas but better.

Whale Rider as already mentioned.

Snowtown - Not sure I'd want to sit through it again, but it's a shockingly tough film.

Chocolate - Thai martial arts film with a female hero and jaw-dropping fight choreography.

The Raid- another martial arts film.

The Source - Morrocan film about women going on "Love Strike" to persuade the men to collect the water.

Mesrine 1 +2

I l Divo ...

I love films very much. My Lovefilm subscription is worth every penny.

toofattorun · 23/08/2012 18:03

Breakfast Club

KellyElly · 23/08/2012 18:11

limitedperiodonly A History of Violence is a great film. Lots of people don't know it when I say I've watched it.

So many films suggested. I'll need to make a list. Lots I've watched but don't have so will definately be getting some of them too. I'll need to take out a small loan :)

goth I'm watching Romanzo Criminale for the second time at the moment. Brilliant. Funny and I missed so much first time round. There is another series but I don't know if it's ever going to turn up on TV.

Also loved Goodbye Lenin and Mesrine 1. Not 2 so much but it's worth seeing all of it.

limitedperiodonly · 23/08/2012 18:30

Sorry kelly. I loved History of Violence and luckily for me I've forgotten the end. It's on DVD so please don't spoil it Grin

StaceeJaxx · 23/08/2012 18:33
