Isn’t it funny how all these right wing men always say? They want to look out for women and help protect them? It always turns out that half of them are dodgy motherfuckers.
You have the guy that has just had to step down that Donald Trump wanted to be the Attorney General he’s got loads of sex trafficking offences against him Matt gaetz .
Then you have this gentleman maybe not a gentleman who brutally attacked his girlfriend but yet they were convinced the average Joe that we should all be scared of the immigrants I think to be honest with you I’m quite a lot scared by these right wing twats what about yourselves?

Reform UK MP jailed for 'repeatedly kicking his ex girlfriend'

He had not publicly disclosed the conviction before he was elected as an MP and downplayed the attack as a “teenage indiscretion”.

This has been evident for a long time. During the election campaign Trump rambled on about protecting women no doubt with one hand up someone's skirt.

They're all the same. Conservative men tend to believe in traditional roles and those on the far right in biological essentialism and having white babies for the nation.

They go on about protecting women yet do absolutely nothing, nada about domestic abuse and VAWAG. In fact they often take part in it.

Everyone should be frightened of the far right. They don't tend to be rational and they whip up anger at marginalised groups.

Exactly still can't believe how many get taken in by it all

Exactly still can't believe how many get taken in by it all

Par example:

A Reform MP was jailed 18 years ago for repeatedly kicking his girlfriend, newly released court records have revealed.

James McMurdock, 38, the new MP for South Basildon and East Thurrock, was convicted of assaulting his then girlfriend in 2006 while drunk outside a nightclub.

He spent 21 days in a young offenders' institution after admitting to the attack.
Before he was elected as an MP, the investment banker had not publicly disclosed the conviction and when it emerged in July he had been jailed for attacking his girlfriend when he was 19 years old, he downplayed the incident as a "teenage indiscretion".

Kicking in your girlfriend is an indiscretion. Yet I'm sure he's still bleating on about dangerous immigrants.

Interesting that the bank didn't care about assaults on women either. We're just collateral (damage) to all men in power, in that their politics are almost the same.

The bank may not have known. I work in Finance and haven’t had a DBS for work. I think I had to sign something to say I didn’t have a criminal record but it wasn’t checked. He has been an MP now for nearly 6 months and he has only just been found out.

Mumofteenandtween · 23/11/2024 08:13

Oooh - and with a bit of a google it turns out he wasn’t a hotshot banker type at all. Some former colleagues came forward in July to say that he wasn’t some hotshot banker at all but a relatively junior admin person. His bio is somewhere between extreme exaggeration and outright lies.

He’ll get on well with Rachel Reeves then

GrammarTeacher · 23/11/2024 08:51

And Suella Braverman. I would wager that somewhere depressingly around 50% of MPs have 'exaggerated' on their CVs it's a cross party problem.

There is a bit of truth though, that allowing a lot of damaged and violent young (fit/physically strong) men into the country whilst cutting down the police force and legal system is pretty stupid.
But the Tories and British right did that. So I don't know why the British right wing are now complaining really.
KS is making it worse, mind you.

Two things can be true, you disagree with mass immigration for reasons of loss of law and order, but you beat your wife up too. 🤷

Is isn’t making it worse he is giving more orders for the police they are trying to tackle gangs but they need processing faster so we don’t have the bad type here

The point of the thread is that these men, like Trump, are saying that they want to protect women. Yet they're a danger to women.

My general life experience is that, the men who go around saying they will protect you, are the very men who you should protect yourself from. The men who respect your independence tend to be the ones you are safest around.

Plenty of left wing men are abusive. Some are paedophiles like Huw Edwards or disgraced labor MP Eric Joyce. Do you not have a problem with them?

I don't know any left wing men telling women that they want to get rid off immigrants in order to protect them. However it seems quite common for those on the right to claim to want to protect women while they have extremely uncomfortable views about women.

EvelynBeatrice · 26/11/2024 15:18

Yes there’s definite racism at play here. Men of all races and religions can be a danger to women.
But it’s faux naivety at best to pretend that large numbers of men coming from parts of the world and practising religions where the overwhelming culture and practice is to regard women as lesser or different or as owned by and or subservient to men and regarding western women as sexually deviant or immoral and therefore worthless, isn’t something for western women of all creeds to worry about.

EvelynBeatrice · 26/11/2024 15:20

God knows things are bad enough here already without importing misogynists.

EvelynBeatrice · 26/11/2024 15:21

It would be an interesting thought experiment to limit asylum to women - escapees from Afghanistan for example.

SidhuVicious · 27/11/2024 20:20

Tbf, immigrants and asylum seekers are hugely over represented in sex crime statistics - e.g. almost 20% of serious sex crimes (including rape) in France despite being little over 1% of the population and in another country (I'd have to check which) they comprised something like 50% of gang rapists over a five year period. And not to forget about the 1200 sexual assaults on that one NYE in Germany which the police attempted to downplay.

Not that I agree Reform is the solution however.

I don't think any able-bodied unaccompanied male should ever be allowed asylum anywhere.

So they're meant to end up in somewhere like Assad's torture chambers? Why aren't men allowed the privilege of being free from persecution?

RingoJuice · 10/12/2024 05:52

The point is you don’t make a bad problem worse by importing young males from EVEN MORE misogynistic cultures.

It’s like …. stop digging.

We're talking about asylum seekers, not importing males, whatever that means. Asylum seekers are fleeing persecution.

What do you suggest as an alternative?
