Why was this woman arrested like this!?! Her poor child!

According to other Tweeters, she had paid her bus fare BTW.

I don't think it is about the overt racism that makes the board look deranged.
It's like all over this thread , from poster after poster 'why didn't she just pay the ticket
/ It's not racist / why was she aggressive / no you haven't experienced racism from tfl / if this happened to a white woman it would be the same
Just a lack of willingness to listen and learn anything

There is one this morning.

Apparently many Muslims are worshipping Satan.

Has posted 5 posts on the board prior to this thread, and 9 on MN in total under this username. We have no idea who they are.

The thread is asking if people are reassessing their religion. Which makes it look as if a religious person is asking a question.

It makes the board look deranged. But it isn't a regular user name.

So what does this mean? It means, anyone can post.

I don’t think anyone is claiming that there are limits to who can post.

But you are set on it only being new/irregular posters. Can you prove that this is the case - the example you’ve given, how can you prove they’ve not name changed? Only asking as you were so keen for some stats and evidence yourself earlier.

Also you are very, very, set on shouting down black people and their experiences, and you’re a regular poster so….

Good lord, that's my very point.

Nobody can prove anything. Nobody knows what the background of the deranged posters is. Nobody knows what the background of anyone is. And those that make statements about it being 'white feminists' have no idea if it is one person name changing or all completely separate people.

But I do know that the board is relentlessly targeted by men who regularly pretend to be posters and then say deranged shit and post it in other places to make the board look deranged. I know that because they've been doing it for years.

This morning's deranged shit has just been deleted. I'm happy to start a deranged shit thread to record the deranged shit but it would be deleted as a thread about a thread.

Some time ago I posted something along the lines of NAMALT when some of the feminists were discussing male violence and how we can better support/prepare girls and women. We spoke about why should the burden rest on women to take all manner of precautions rather than men just leaving women alone.
Very interesting thread, along comes I, talked about my dad and uncle - the kindest men you'll ever meet. Asked these women why they're mostly married to men if all of them are apparently vile, would-be attackers. One of the feminists told me to stop being so disingenuous with my NAMALT claim. Not a single one of the feminists agreed with me, indeed I assume they thought I was being at best antagonising, at worst obtuse.

Curious really.

But the very goal of racism is to exhaust you, it's to absolutely wear you down. The feminists are so phenomenally good at this they should be studied by the actual card carrying flag waving 'get out of my country' types. The feminists modus operandi centres around 'I'm just playing devils advocate here.' If you actually call them out and tell them exactly what they are then you are the aggressor - if you're a Black woman doing this then the shoe already fits right because of that 'aggressive' trope. A few WW tears later and you find yourself further disenfranchised. Amazing really.

So you are saying that you are not a feminist but posting in a so called 'feminist' board?

And that racists should study feminists to learn more racism from them.

Crikey. I think I'd best get out of this space immediately as I don't want to stand with the wrong people.

Not sure what your actual point is but so now I'm responsible for the demise of the NHS, the demise of FWR and I'm a bloke?

And yet still I don't actually insult anyone. Weird.

AntiSocial6DaysAWeek · 04/08/2023 20:01

You don't need to call someone names in order to insult them.

I'm sorry but you were the one implying people were bringing down this section because they are secretly men who frequent his board to make it look bad. All that happened was it's been turned round on you with your own logic to make a point.

That's my understanding of it anyway.

That pretty much it. I have admired as poster after poster, of varying ethnicities, has addressed @AlisonDonut . Whilst it might have been possible to consider one or two posts of her posts naïve, her dogged determination to insist that black women and allies calling out racism are just men pretending to be women to stir up trouble as well as insisting that the onus is on us to prove otherwise is disingenuous at best.

Well, that's it in a nutshell. The determination to refuse to see another point of view but expecting their view to be the only one respected when it is an experience neither me or her (him?) have to deal with. Ever. I have never felt judged on my ethnicity and doubt I ever will.

Then if you don't agree it's because you are a man. It's small minded at the very least...I'll let others fill in the blanks of what it really means.

Any intelligent person has the capability to listen to someone else and take on board what they are saying, particularly other women when we are already so badly let down by a male led society.

Also very telling that there aren't so many jumping on to defend said views.

I'm on my second glass of wine so am going to be childish and say donut by name, donut by nature.

AntiSocial6DaysAWeek · 04/08/2023 22:07

Sorry, I sounded so blase there, I didn't mean to. I don't feel proud of my white privilege.

I read about a boy from NI who died and I can't see how it wasn't foul play.. I have a son the same age and I was in tears reading the news article.

Then for it possibly to be solely down to race I can't comprehend it.

The thought of it being your son, then your son being only 14, then it being possibly only to do with his race.

I cannot understand it.

I know this thread was started about a particular news story but I think people talking and sharing will hopefully help people learn what is really happening out there. Whether you agree with this one woman's actions or not.

Are you now equating my actions of saying that the posters who appear to have been deleted for racism not seeming to be regulars is like murdering a child?

Crikey.

AntiSocial6DaysAWeek · 05/08/2023 00:13

Wtf are you on about.

Not everything is about you. I was talking about racism in general and I think it's awful people refuse to believe it's 'a thing'.

As bad as you've some across, no, I don't think you murder children.

An innocent child and you somehow make it about you. Disgusting.

Piss off.

If you are referring to a story post a link so that people know which woman you are referring to in your posts. The preceding one in which you were indeed referring to me negatively.

Many people are killed every day on this planet, for reasons of their race, religion, sex, sexual orientation. It is a vicious, vile planet.

It is not Mumsnet feminists killing them as far as we know.

This is where I got to yesterday. Alison has an agenda s(he) was given the benefit of the doubt and demonstrated s(he) is not worthy of time or energy. When I get to the stage where I start to think 'don't feed animals', it's time to stop engaging. Honestly don't give s(he) any more head space.

My patience is spent.

It’s hard to explain sometimes how the police act, as it’s so reasonable when written down.
I went to Stratford one evening last week and the police were apparently doing an intimidation event. My son suddenly, age 13, came back to my side and said ‘woah, a lot of police’. I didn’t register until we’d passed a few on the bridge to Westfield but there were maybe 30 or more. Lined up against the bridge sides then across the middle. I wasn’t bothered, seemed to be a check of some kind.
Then the first int he middle with a dog suddenly shouted out aggressively at us, ‘kept moving past the dog!’. We hadn’t broken our stride or gone near. 7 yr old jumped. Then a few more glaring. The teenage girls near us, maybe my sons age, were stopped and sent to a knife arch. Not in a smiley helpful, we’ll keep you all safe way. They were younger secondary and we’re scared of all the police towering. It was done in a way you had to weave through them and it wasn’t friendly in tone, quite challenging. It seemed more to just keep people away.
It sounds so reasonable writing it down, but seeing the police eyeballing in rows and being challenging in demeanour is quite intimidating. I’m saying this as a white woman. If I’d been a teenage boy I’d have turned around and walked off fast. Which potentially attracts chase then a massive escalation- just because you follows instinctively to get away from something scary.
Or maybe if you’ve been searched enough times you could end up feeling challenging yourself. You snap a bit.
The Met police aren’t always straightforward in how they act, not always the same and not equal to all groups

DojaPhat · 08/08/2023 20:58

@CakAndMoreCake Can you clarify as it's not clear from the rest of your post - your first sentence, do you mean "as it’s so reasonable when written down." or "as it's so 'unreasonable'"?

AntiSocial6DaysAWeek · 08/08/2023 22:27

None of what was posted sounds reasonable so maybe she meant 'on paper' that what the police say they're doing sounds reasonable, but what they put into practice isn't?

What is an intimidation event? Does it just mean they were doing some sort of job but intimidating people while at it? Excuse my stupidity.

Sorry for being unclear. Ranting a little and distracted.
basically this kind of even will be down as community relations or something, reassuring us and reducing crime. They’ll report that they maintained a presence for safety or something.
In practice it felt and looked like what I described above. It was unpleasant and intimidating. The reality is this kind of show usually ends up in some chase or arrests, and can be a trigger.
I’ve seen similar around Tottenham Hale at rush hour, and seen it result in people running downstairs against the flow of a very crowded station causing danger. Scary when it happens and you’re in the middle. On paper it can sound like a good thing they were patrolling

That makes more sense.

I won't lie, I could not get my head round the intimidation event and was like wth is this? Police practise being intimidating at an actual event and this is allowed??🙃brain clearly not switched on!

DojaPhat · 09/08/2023 20:00

I see what you mean now, and also following AntiSocial's post. Yes to the official recording seemingly appearing to be to all intents and purposes police on 'duty' but very far from the reality. I often wonder if others around me also notice the stark presence or rather have a sense of trepidation when I come across things like that at busy train stations or passing through crowds whilst not actually participating in whatever event/protest.
