Absolutely shocked and sickened by this. Ive always liked Brooke Shields and am appalled she has been through all this.

Yes I remember being shocked by it at the time, she was so young.

Pretty Baby was disgusting and no-one at the time seemed to care that she was being exploited.

What sort of question is that, is there an appropriate time when you start/finish processing your thoughts about abuse and then disclose them in interview??

Crass question. It can take decades for a person to be able to talk openly about their trauma. For some it can never be talked about.

I’m sure I read somewhere she had to have a lot of therapy after doing the blue lagoon. She was 15 at the time

I'm a few years younger than her, so don't remember Pretty Baby coming out, but I do remember people questioning the Calvin Klein ads. I'm not disagreeing with your point - but it makes it worse that there were dissenting voices, but they were dismissed.

It is also absolutely gob-smacking that Playboy, which traded on its 'respectable, intellectual porn for gentlemen' image (total bollocks, obviously, but that's how it promoted itself) published full nudes of a 10 year old.

Utterly horrific that her mother thought this was suitable work for her young daughter. You don't have a clue at that young age. If your mum says it's the right thing to do then you just believe her because hell it's "your mum". You take your lead from her. Unfortunately some mums shouldn't be mums. Poor Brooke Shields. I'm sure there was plenty of appropriate child model work for her to do that didn't involve stripping off for playboy or starring as a child prostitute. Can't imagine any mother sitting back and watching while her child was nude getting her photo taken for a top shelf magazine. Utterly horrific!!
